Ahh post a funny CARTOON fail boat launch video and the ol mirror vs tailgate debate ensues.
FWIW, I couldn’t give a rat’s arse how you back up a trailer at the ramp, as long as it’s done with courtesy and efficiency. Hell, I don’t care if it takes a weekend warrior a couple of tries to get lined up. Everyone is out there to have a good time.
Relax and have fun fellas. Above all else, be safe. Here’s to some great times on the water this summer.

quote:Proof you have zero idea what you are talking about,
Fenders are going to be the same depth on any launch and tell ya all ya need to know about how deep trailer is.
Fenders are the Kwan of launch/load of boats, you should try using them and see for yosef.
A steep ramp and a shallow ramp are vastly different.
I know you, you are the guy that takes 3 minutes to get down the ramp checking right and left mirrors. Then you put the boat on and have to jump out and hook the winch to insure your shite doesnt slide back, or if you are far enough on.
Its ok, you still have time.

I use the backup camera and fly in like Dale Earnhardt
I have no trouble with mirrors, but I prefer the speed of looking directly at the trailer. I tried the camera deal, looked like a goof ball.

I don't even attempt to back my utility trailer into my driveway. Just pull straight in, remove the golf cart, unhook it and wheel it into it's place. That little SOB is a real PITA to back up, a boat trailer, no problem.

My dad on the other hand....it's cringe-worthy
My dad is perfectly fine backing the boat in, it's when we're loading up and he never puts the trailer far enough in the water, then doesnt look in the mirror to see me yelling/waving 'COME ON BACK, COME ON BACK"
I usually end up burning a 1/2 tank of fuel running 5500 rpms with the boat on the trailer trying to get that extra 2 feet to the winch hook.

My wife backs down ramp straight as an arrow, normally gets asked if she has a sister....

Could be worse. I backed my boat down a few months back and gave my dad a rope to hold since he doesnt want to start it up and back it down. Got boat in water pulled out and parked. Come back and find out my dad dropped the rope and my boat was 15 yards feet into the water.

Dulac Fat bitch ramp owner used to give me shite for power loading at the ramp.
The slope was low and shallow, and the only way to get it up to the winch was with power on. Heavy boat
Never launched there again
