Coming soon to a boat launch near you
As the weather gets warmer, the more you’ll see these types at the launch.

I couldn’t stop laughing because I’ve seen this IRL too many times.

I laughed way to hard at that because it's true.

That's spot on. I don't know what's worse the people that can't back down, or the people who can't put the boat on the trailer.

My wife backs that way, but manages to not hit anything and just snakes on down the ramp with eventual success.

Your wife backs a trailer down the ramp? That's a +3 on the hotness scale.

With a little practice, she’ll get it. You’re lucky she even wants to try. My wife sits in the truck until my boat is launched and tied up out of the way. I make a point to go to a launch that doesn’t have a lot of traffic on busy weekends. It’s a longer run, but I’d be furious with someone who did this with a capable person in the truck. She can run a jet ski like nobody’s business, but doesn’t want to learn how to drive the boat.

ETA: She has no desire to even try backing up a trailer. It must be her kryptonite.

Yes, but like I said-lots of over correction in a serpentine pattern

Looks like my brother trying to back the boat into the water.

And he wonders why I don’t let him take it out on his own.

My dad does ok at the launch but when he tries to back the boat down the driveway I go inside to take a nap while waiting for him to get it done

99% of the time, they're from the 225 area code.

Coming soon?

This happens all too often, all year round.

Not just the ones that can't back up either...it's the oblivious or inconsiderate arseholes that are generally in the way and don't know or just DGAF.

This is the exact reason getting some beer and watching a boat launch on a sunny Summer Saturday afternoon or 4th of July is some of the funniest shite you will ever witness. Especially when a female gets put in charge of backing up so the dude can get it off the trailer. Just got to be careful not to make it so obvious because it is also a good way to have a Sonic encounter at a boat launch.

I thought mine was the only one who backs down my boat. her biggest pet peeve is when someone with a big nice F250 and a 24 foot boat goes right in the middle where no one can go down the left or right and takes too long.
she makes it a point to fit my little boat on the side of them, sometimes nearly jack-knifing the trailer, nearly causing a fight

Was at Fred’s a few weeks ago and watched a guy back down his pontoon, get out, start unloading a fricking bbq grill, noodles, rafts, ice chests, etc while on the ramp. Then he proceeded to get in his boat and give a little throttle before he realized he was still winched to his trailer. THEN, he took 5 minutes to tie off before he got back in his truck and drove off. It was probably a 15 minute ordeal with 5 or 6 people waiting to launch.

Never fails that these guys end up in the middle of a double wide launch and then hand crank the boat all of the way up.

I had an ex that was a pro at pulling around a trailer and launching a boat. Better than most guys. Still had trouble with my 4x8 trailer. That thing is a major PITA.

My dad on the other hand....it's cringe-worthy

I cut a little slack for the weekend warriors that maybe put in a boat once or twice a year. You will get hazed like a mother fricker if you do that on a ramp during duck season.

I feel guilty getting my latest boat out of the water because I must go winch down or it slides. I cannot get that front adjustment down where it won't. Neither of my previous boats moved a millimeter once hitting the roller.
