I'm not sure how the guide can come out on top here. Regardless of what happens, it is clear that if you book with him, he may or may not cancel at the last minute and may or may not tell the truth about it.

Good point. Maybe he had a funeral mid day and knew he'd have time to shoot a tv show, but not enough time to give a full charter worth of fishing?
As an aside, I can only imagine how that would play out - honey, I know Grammy's funeral is today, I'll only be fishing for a little while...

Yeah, I don't get the drop of the hat deal. I don't think you can plan burials at the drop of a hat. I think they have to be planned. Of couse maybe it was like, "Ok, beep me when they get the hole dug. I'm going fishing."
