Yes, they will kill snakes, rats, etc. at a decent distance. I shot a hole the size of a dime through 1/4" osb shooting at (and missing) a rat in a shooting house with a .22lr. I was about 3 feet away and he was running up the wall trying to get away. I'd say within 10 feet or so they should do the trick.

Shot a cotton mouth a few days ago with that same set up. To the head, very effective. I was impressed.

You can kill any snake in Louisiana with a 1" diameter pine limb

shhh, don't ruin the city boys fantasy of needing to carry a dedicated sidearm just for something with no legs.....while inside the cab of a tractor

I’ve killed plenty with the 22 Mag shotshells but haven’t been able to find a box in years.

That’s part of the fun of getting a dedicated one…I’ve killed a slew of big rats while bushhogging with a knock off 410 snake charmer.

This thread has got me thinking about picking up a new Colt king cobra for my tractor gun.

Or buy a 22lr adapter for my 410.

I killed a rat dead as a hammer at about 10 yards with .22 CCI rat shot from a revolver. It works very well at that distance.

I tell you what, I been messing around with some rats around my chicken coop and cow shed. My Gamo whisper was killing at abouy a 40% rate.

My CCI rat shot out of a 22 LR is 3/3 this evening.
