Who came up with this BS? Seems like folks take it personally when you tell them that castrating a boar after you drop it is still a couple of months too late.

ETA: a feller I know wanted a hog and wouldn't take the one I offered him because I didn't cut the nuts off right away. Guess he ain't hungry enough.

I've even heard grown men say you have to jack them off as soon as you shoot them. And they weren't even joking.

Yeah, I really thought it was recent. There may have been another discussion.

I cut the nuts off when i have them hanging from the skinning rack and feed them to my blue heeler, he goes nuts over them.

They need to be castrated months before killing them.

I'll eat the sows but the boars will rot. I wont even mess with them. It's not worth cleaning all that to find out it stinks.

My buddy made sausage with one and had to throw away the whole batch. He won't keep a boar anymore.

Why? I have trapped 30 hogs on my land since March. I've trapped and shot over 50 hogs on my land and i haven't had one boar taste bad. The biggest one being 220 lbs.

I’ve eaten several boars that were very good. What I do before I clean the whole pig is cut off a little meat, put it in a skillet and fry it a little. You’ll find out quick if it’s edible.

I think it's like cilantro. I have a buddy from Mamou who eats all kinds of nasty stuff and he won't touch a boar. I notice the smell right away and can't do it. I know picky eaters who love the same meat I can't palate.

We eat all boars under 200lbs. My dad killed one 250+ (scale bottomed out) and it was inedible.

I’ve had a lot of laughs reading TD in the past, but I have never laughed as hard as I did when I read this! Tears were streaming down my face and my stomach muscles were cramping from laughing so long and so hard!
I can just imagine somebody doing that! Hilarious

bingo. It may as well have maggots crawling on it. I killed one opening day. I hope the coyotes castrated him, but I have noticed coyotes dont even eat that nasty animal.

earlier this year I saw a big hog's head in sherburne. looked like it was sleeping. put a bullet in it. walked up and i had shot a big dead boar that somebody else had left. the good thing about having the rona virus was I couldn't smell it.

Well the ones on our lease stink to high heaven. When we kill a boar he is usually in the 300lb range or more. He is buzzard bait.
