I want to take advantage of the 20% coupon while I can and get myself a 22lr pistol with threaded barrel. Options on Academy's web page are:

M&P22 Compact. Cheapest option. Shot a friends and his is quite accurate and eats anything you throw at it.
LINK

Ruger MKIV 22/45. 22/45 is always a classic.
LINK

Ruger MKIV Tactical. Actually prefer the grip angle on the standark MKIV over the 22/45.
LINK

Browning Buckmark.
LINK

S&W Victory. Only stainless option of the bunch but 5.5" barrel is more of a negative as a suppressor host.
LINK

Ruger SR22. Left it off because I prefer the S&W M&P22 compact over this one.

I like them all for various reasons I can't decide on which one

I'd vote Ruger. Owning both the S&W and the Ruger, its not even close, either. S&W M&P 22 was fun, but the quality of the Ruger and the accuracy were head and shoulders better. I have the Tactical but have shot the 22/45 with a can as well, you can't go wrong with Ruger.

I like the smooth lines of the 22/45 Lite with a small can on it. Plus it comes perfect from the factory if you wish to put a reflex sight on it.

If you’re going for cost savings, the M&P22 or the SR22 would be decent options. These you will likely be stuck with irons but that’s not really an issue if you didn’t plan on using a dot sight anyway.

give me the quick and easy,

quote:

Tandem Kross kit
what is that?

and what can would be good for it with total cost out the door. If it sounds reasonable i might come see you after i get the trust stuff completed.

I have a MkIII 22/45 Lite with it. It's called the High Performance Kit. You'll need to check if they make a similar one for the MkIV

LINK

quote:

This combo contains:

1 Steel Hammer Bushing for the Mark III 22/45
1 "Kanewolf" Slingshot upgrade
1 LCI replacement in black OR stainless steel
1 "Firestarter" Titanium Firing Pin
1 "Eagle Talon" Extractor
1 Extended Magazine Release

Make sure you get the Victory trigger as well. It'll be $145 or so for everything, very worth it. I have it all in + VZ grips and an RMR. It's like a competition gun lol. Running an Element II on it and shoot it in my yard (in middle of BR) all the time. Stupid quiet, lots of fun

if you go with something like the Lite in gray, itll be about $469.99. Cans are anywhere from 350-450 depending on what you like.

i actually like the browning better than the ruger. Owned both, sold ruger. Not saying it sucked.. its nice, just personally like the feel of the buckmark more.

Do any of you all have any experience with these kits that convert glocks into 22LR?

I like the idea and they have great reviews.

When is yalls next sale, i want one now. That Academy sale, if still active, is probably the cheapest option.

Guessing both of y’all have the mkIII? I held out because of that reason. The mkIV is easy to brake apart.

I would vote the mkiv for all the reasons listed above. Love mine. I have a sr22 with a laser for shits and giggles. Trigger kinda sucks. It fits in the hand way better than the s&w. Those are the only two of your list I have hand in my hands.

Thank God Ruger stepped up and figured out how to make breakdown easier. Those older models will make you want to rip your hair out.

Went with the 22/45 Lite for $414.14 shipped/taxes.

Now I have to decide on a 22lr suppressor Local shop pimps SilencerCo but he said he can order just about anything.
