I shot a few mags through both this week at the range and i was impressed with both. Very accurate and smooth for pistols in the low $300 range. Anybody here had one for a while that can tell me how dependable they are?

Century Arms is the manufacturer. Sa is an older model than the sf. They are both Tp9's I believe. Not familiar with either.

I've seen several really glowing reviews on them but I've never seen one.
One of these reviews was the guy that had an absolutely terrible review on the Remington RP9.
After getting a letter from Remington they decided to use ammo that Remington told them to use and lo and behold the gun was wonderful.

They performed so well I have not been able to stop thinking about buying one since I shot them. I'm not usually an impulse buyer but I'm going to order one tomorrow.

LSU Freak,
I've had a Canik TP9SF for a few months now. I like mine. I've run approximately 150 rounds through it. I've had two failures to eject, but I suspect both were caused by me limp wristing; both were in the first 80 rounds or so. Some have a hang up w/ it being made in Turkey and the fact that it's not engraved w/ the name Smith & Wesson, Springfield Armory, Glock, Colt, etc, but so far, mine's been a fine range gun and has done everything I've asked of it. Most reviews and reports by those who actually own one have been very positive. I do NOT like the design of the Canik TP9SA; it's a single action w/ a decocker, a design that doesn't make much sense to me. There's also a model w/ a DA/SA action, but I'm not a fan of that action either. If you buy a Canik, be sure which one you're getting. Mine came w/ 2 mags (18 rounds each). But there's a version that comes w/ 2 mag that only have 10 rounds each. Keep us updated.

I have the sf elite. I like it a lot. I don't have a whole lot of experience shooting pistols.
The first day pissed me off and had me wanting to throw it away. It stove piped 1 out of every 5 rounds. Since that day. I've only ran 115 grain Blazer Brass. The gun has ran great. No misfeeds, no stove pipes, no erratic ejections, and awesome accuracy.
I think a lot of negative reviews are either shooting poor ammo or trying to make it fail.
The price point is great but the only down fall is there aren't a ton of aftermarket parts.

I've read articles that say the Canik is a well-made knockoff of the Walther P99 with a few Glock features thrown in for good measure.
One writer said it was so similar to the P99 that he would bet Walther magazines would work just fine in it.
