Came home today to a flooded house

Toilet on first floor had been ruining over the bowl since lunch time. My gun room had an inch of water in it. I had to move 60K rounds ammo tonight and all my guns out of my safe. Having to move my guns to my dads tomorrow. Luckily he is in my trust for all my Class III stuff. Serv pro came out and going to be ripping up the carpet tomorrow. Holy shite balls. Guns are fine but I have no idea how I am going to move this safe. It’s a Liberty Colonial 50. I think it weighs 900 lbs empty.
I didn’t flood in 2016. I couldn’t imagine what some of you guys went through. We were lucky in we are only looking at some flooring, sheet rock and being a little inconvenienced. Guns, ammo and kids are fine!

Screw a couple furniture doll's together. With a ratchet strap and a friend, you can put it anywhere you'd like, no problem.

Liberty guys brought my safe in with one square dolly, and 2’ x 4’ piece of plywood for the threshold on my front door, then the big suction cups for carrying glass. Literally took them 5 minutes to get the 760 pound safe in my house and into my gun room. I’ll never pay to have one delivered again after seeing that...

I know. My grandparents owned a furniture store. My dad snagged a couple of the Dolly’s when they sold it.

Dont feel bad man, it is flooding all over central and northern louisiana right now.
Here in Monroe area it is still coming down and doesnt look like it will stop anytime soon..

Same thing happened to me last year, you have my sympathy.
I have a crawl space foundation, so the water drained into the ductwork as well.
Did they also remove bottom few inches of Sheetrock?

They are going to today. All of the baseboards are coming up as well. It’s amazing how much damage an inch of water can do. Probably looking at 20-30k in damage.

Appreciate it. I just have to get it out the room so they can pull carpet it. Shittiest thing about this whole episode is my wife and daughter had to help move all my ammo. My wife said I could never say shite to her again about hoarding anything.she thinks I have ammo hoarding problem.

We had a pipe in an upstairs bathroom start leaking. Christmas night we discovered water dripping from the living room ceiling. We filed a claim with insurance. It's two months later and they just finished repainting yesterday. Still waiting on the new bathroom flooring to come in. It's been a slow process and a giant pain in the arse.
Hope it goes better for you. If you're not going through insurance, it probably will.

I have to using Serv pro. That’s going be one big arse bill. I have 40 of there fans in the house now. Sure my electric bill will be awesome next month. We were going to list our house for sale in a few weeks. Going to have to postpone....bang head

We had two fans and two giant dehumidifier/fan things in our house for a few days. Our electric bill doubled. We complained to the insurance company. They reimbursed us $35.

I have a tight space where my safe fits. They guy moved it in with wooden dowels. It blew me away how easy it was using something so simple.

My advice:
Take photos of the fans and dehumidifiers and their model numbers. Document the number used and for how many days. Do your own research about how much electricity they use per hour. When the bill comes, send it and your research to the insurance company so they can't bullshite you like they did me.
