I have a dog out of Gump, have been very pleased with him. They are actually breeding the same pair of dogs in the near future.

Info on Gump is here LINK

Litter won't be from the breeder on the site though. If interested I can give you a number

Milner of Duckhill started Wildrose and was the 1st to bring the british lines to the US. He sold it way back in the 80s. He's a really nice guy. I've talked to him many times.

Both of these breeders are up around Memphis. Wildrose is in Oxford and Duckhill is in Somerville, TN (30-40 minutes East of Memphis).

I bought my dog from Southwind Kennels (also british). He worked for Milner when he started and sold Wildrose. He worked for the new owner until the new guy wanted to mix the breeds.

The very reason I never called them for a dog. I couldn't love a dog that came from that close to Ole Miss. Honest.

Yeah, they don't mix them. Wildrose is all British.

Maybe they did a while back for a stint or something?

Mike Stewart is the current owner. They're all about 100% british lines.

Yeah, this was the guy before Mike Stewart. He didn't last long. Mike Stewart bought Wildrose in the late 80s early 90s.

Pure british now.

My friend has a British lab and there's nothing special about him. I don't like the way their faces look. Much prefer my American

What is wrong with their faces?

They have shorter snouts and they just look squashed in. May just be his idk but I just don't like the look.

That's a well marketed dog. 2g's is a strong price, but if you have that many magazine covers then I suppose that brings value.

Gump is a good sire. I've seen his offspring work and was very pleased.

Seriously thinking about breeding my "HR" female before she gets too old. She will be 5 next month and should be going into heat about the same time.

Nothing. Some Brits have a block head, some don't.

Yep, mine has a block head.

To the OP, got mine from Bear Creak and Steve/Kim Riggins. Has been a great dog so far.

Nice looking pup. My old dog had a beautiful block head which didn't change much until he was 11 or 12. The new red fox dog is stout made with a good square head, just not a "block" head. I'll post a pick. He's a helluva good pup. About to get his HRCH later this Spring unless he completely fouls up.

You ever think about breeding him. I will probably run a litter through my fox red in a year or two.

Not happy with less than the limit.

He's a champ at couch crushing, too. Great demeanor. Thinks he's everybody's favorite. 63 pounds. Compact. Very competitive but honors well. He is a marking SOB. Rarely run a single blind because he rarely misses a bird.
