They are so damn sexy. No practical use whatsoever because no sane man would carry a $1200 revolver.

My only reason I'm hesitant toward the 1911 (other than price). I need a truck gun on a good caliber and would feel weird with something that pretty getting thrown on the truck all the time.

I've had revolvers with .44-40 and the .45LC.

They are awesome to shoot. I'm still pissed at myself for selling the .45lc

Might just get a cheap used .357 revolver

I pack around a .357 blackhawk. Single action like a boss.

I like my single action .22. Would probably get double action if it's gonna be mainly self defense though.

Thanks lawman! I have a lot of law enforcement friends who have taken me shooting. They have a wide variety of glocks. Great guns! I can't wait to get one.

Yea a single action is a pretty shitty self defense weapon. I've gotten good enough with mine to where I would have a chance if I had to use it, but it's far from ideal. It's just what I have.

I disagree. Relative to other weapons, it has disadvantages. Primarily reloading in my opinion. But I think "shitty" is a poor choice of descriptions.

reloading

That's my only complaint about them. If I have mine full and ready to go then I think I could kick some arse as long as there isn't more than about 4 of em.

I don't have an answer for the reloading problem, except to have two Blackhawks instead of one.

But... the overwhelming majority of home and personal defense incidents are resolved in 3 shots or less... by all parties involved(according to the NRA.)

Awesome Nola. My parents have a family membership at Bass Pro so I go shoot with them when I am in town.
Now I want to get my own handgun.
