Boat fuel tank additive

I’ve always used Sea Foam

1oz Mercury Quickare + 1 oz Mercury Quickleen per 5 gallons of any gas.

I use stabil. Sea foam is a good cleaner. I would not use it for fuel storage.

Seafoam.

I fill it up because when the tank is full, there’s less of a chance of water build up.

How long does it stay in the tank? I usually put what's left in my boat tank in my truck every 90 days or so. I used to do the same with 2 strokes and never had an issue. I do the same thing with gas for my lawn equipment....I try to buy what I will need for 90 days and when that time is up I pour it in my truck and buy more. I have had numerous issues with small engines and poor gas quality but I have never had an issue with a car or truck...

I keep 40 gallons of gas in our RV at all times, or nearly all the time, because an empty gas tank is prone to all manner of ill shite. We do not use the RV much anymore so that fuel sits a long time...it is an effort to get it out of the RV. I have siphoned 15-20 gallons out and used it in my truck over a couple of weeks but I usually pour a gallon of sea foam in it and use it the next time we use the camper. Never had an issue.

Ive a 2 stroke 60hp mercury. It's ethanol free gas, seafoam, and Lucas 2 Stroke synthetic blend 50:1 oil. Cranks and runs like an old timey Singer sewing maching.

Is there any doubt that modern 4 strokes will provide the years of service as trouble free as those old 2 strokes have and still do? I have a Evinrude 150 2 stroke from the mid 80s that has been owned by about 10 different people and that damned thing fires up almost as quick as an electric motor and runs like a top. I have a 2018 Mercury 60 HP with less than 50 hours on it and I have spent more time maintaining the thing than any outboard I ever owned and I have owned a bunch. Its not a bad engine, in fact it is a fantastic engine, it just has more maintenance requirements than any 2 stroke I ever owned. That 150 will run on anything....as long as its not overly rich it will run like a top. That 60 HP HATES anything but ethanol free gas. it will burn it but it doesn't perform like it should. That 150 would probably run on about 20% water LOL....it just keeps on going. I have wanted to repower that boat for years and almost did last year with a 140 HP Suzuki at a bargain...just can't justify doing so.

I run regular gas and use yamaha fuel additive and run ring free once a year thru it. my boat sits up some and I never have an issue. I've never run ethanol free in my 300 yamaha outside of marina fuel and have had zero issues for 4 years.
