Where will you be crabbing? Metal traps are the best if you have the luxury of being able to leave them out and check many hours or a day later. If fishing off a pier, chicken on a string or circle nets will be your best bet. Could also use circle nets from a boat of course

Check Facebook marketplace for people in Chalmette making and selling them. Should be $30-40/ea fully rigged out with corks, and rebar inside for the big ones which I use.

If just from pier/seawall, get the cheap circle nets from Walmart/academy or just tie chicken neck to a string and pull in slowly. Plan on doing the same with my son in just a bit. Same area

Rising Sun Crab Traps in Biloxi or Southern Wire in Raceland. Make sure they made with Riverdale Wire.

Over in Ms you could try A&A Marine Hardware in Pass Christian. I'm sure there are other stores in Waveland/BSL/Pass that will have them as well.

Adam's fruit stand in Matthews. Get them soon because they opening less and less. I keep trying to catch him to get me another dozen, its hit or miss when they open.
