But I’d prefer an outdoor griddle so the grease splatter isn’t in my kitchen. Nor the smell.
That is where I am too. Fatty beef in a skillet tastes great, but the grease ends up pooling in the skillet. And smelling up the kitchen. With the griddle, and I'm pretty sure all of the Blackstones have a grease trap at the back, you can flip the burgers off to the side, use your spatula to push some towards the trap, and then slide them back to the middle. Last Friday night, I did sausage, pork chops, and chicken breasts on mine. Started the sausage first, then moved them to the edge when they were mostly done, and did the other meats next. I thought my little one might get crowded at times, but I was able to cook 5 chops and 4 chicken breasts at once. Plenty of space, it is hot immediately, and don't have to deal with cleaning the ashes out of the Weber.

My gravity fed charcoal grill cones in soon, and it's coming with the griddle attachment. I guess I will try some burgers on it.

Smash burgers are great. My favorite thing to cook is fried rice and hibachi. I love cooking on my black stone but hate cleaning it. People saying it’s easier to clean than a grill? I must be doing something wrong.

It can’t be easier than cleaning a grill because I don’t clean it
Other than just brushing the grating while it’s flaming up the charcoal

Exactly. You gotta use a pile of water, propane, and elbow grease to clean my four burner blacksone. I’ve seasoned it multiple times. It’s pretty much I giant cast iron skillet. You better use the shite out of it if you are going to store it on your porch.

I bought the 36 inch. It has a propane hanger of the left side. It does not tighten all the way, it is a little loose. Does anyone else have a propane hanger that’s loose on their Black Stone?

It’s not hard if you do what I said on the 1st page.
I cooked bacon on it one time and did not clean it well. It rusted and I had to re-season it.
That’s the only time I’ve had to do that.

Shrimp and mushrooms with a side of back strap.

It's the best of both worlds. I got mine a couple months back and find any excuse I can to use it. Don't think I've cooked bacon and eggs since without it.
Do yourself a favor and order the heat shroud mod from LSS or someone else that makes the mods. It will help protect the heat chamber and cut way back on your flare ups.
To clean the griddle I just scrape all I can off it while still hot, squirt water on it (lifts crud from the surface as it simmers) and scrape that off, then spread a layer lard around. Takes all of 4-5 minutes.

I want to get a flat top, but I want a stainless steel top. Having worked in a restaurant in college has spoiled my taste. They cost a fricking arm and a leg though.

Any brand recommendations? Shopping for one now as I plan to add a counter top gas griddle to my outdoor kitchen build. Been searching around on the katom website for a 24” model. Looks like entry level is $1000

Just make sure after you clean it after cooking to oil it down with a spray oil, as it won't go rancid on you! I learned this lesson

Like others have said, toven amogst others. Love my 36" bs...
Lots of cheap food options from walmart that turn out great.
stirfrys with sweet chili sauce, chicken, bag of frozen sirfry vegtables, use these noodles right on the bs
LINK
philly steak sandwiches, chicken fried rice, smash burgers, etc...
my back patio has a 1100 pitboss pro pellet smoker & a 36" bs.
we rarely cook in the house.

I have 1 of the first models that was available. It has a removable griddle with 2 banjo burners to pot cook on. The newer ones with the H style burners heat the griddle more evenly, but i won't give up the versatility of mine. Does anyone know where i could find a new bs with burners to pot cook?

Burgers on a gas or coal grill usually plump up in the middle, even with putting a dent in the middle of the patty.
That has nothing to do with the heat source, it's that you're not shaping them correctly. Those gross pre-formed burgers, frozen or fresh, don't do that on a grill because they're not shaped by smashing out a ball.

I never have trouble with burgers on a grill.
