When is the best time to buy a new lawn mower? Are there usually any labor day sales?

Depends on the dealer and manufacturer. For instance Gravely does a 20% off MSRP for 7 days in March.

Gautreaux’s told me their best deals are in March. So I decided to hold off until then.

Go to Home Depot now and look out in the outdoor garden area, they put this summers returned mowers out after they are repaired (if needed). Standard 25% off regular price and 1 year bumper to bumper warranty along with the stars manufacturer warranties. I stacked my military discount on top and bought a brand new cub cadet ultima zt1 50” with a whopping 8 hours on it for $2000.

Hope there is a dealer around you that will work on that Home Depot special. Gonna be tough to get service if not

Lawn mowers are pretty simple machines if you have a multiple meter and some basic tools. My box store special has about 2000 hours and has never been to a shop.

My dad has a craftsman riding mower he bought 15 years ago. It has mowed a 3 acre yard for most of its life. Still going

I got a new last years model Hustler for 1k off msrp and 0% for 48 months in February 2015. Should still be the same sale I would think.

Unless the unit is discontinued usually March/April.
Big boxes may do Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day sale.
Most mfg have discounts from March - May depending on market.

We usually service home center units as I have a contract with the extended service companies. Now that person will not be first. We try to get them out in 7 working days unless parts are backordered.
9 out of 10 units have flat tire, low charge on a battery, and most popular answer where I make money the store left bad fuel in the unit needs carb cleaning.

Best one a person uses the unit once, makes up a symptom, and store returns it.
Best symptom was a mower was haunted.
It was a stuck solenoid when you hook up the battery the unit was run.
Dumbest idiot award was a guy tried driving a 500 lb residential zero turn up a tree which he flipped backwards.

People think it’s December through February but it’s not. That’s when dealers are broke and they certainly aren’t giving shite away. Wait until they get next years models in and they are about to start paying their finance company interest on older inventory
