Bought a Craftsmen at Lowe's last year. Rear wheel drive. Works like a charm so far and starts with half a pull.

I have the Honda HRX217. Good mower but doesn't mulch as well as my previous Snapper.

I have a Honda with the 160cc engine that has been great. I also have a toro with the personal pace at another property. The Honda cuts better but I certainly prefer the personal pace of the toro over the thumb drive of the Honda. If I had to pick one I would probably flip a coin to decide. I have had to get parts for the toro and all you have to do is put the serial number into their website and the parts are very easy to get. I have not had to get any for the Honda.

With the Kawasaki FJ180 motor...

beast of a mower.. bought one in 2006 and still running like a champ... change oil once in the spring and never have to add any between oil changes.. I mow 80 by 160 ft plot of land every week from April to November.. the only work I have ever had done is oil change, air filter change and sharpening the blade each year. I had to replace the drive belt once so far over the life of this mower to date...

The guy the owns the outfit that I bought this mower from has been in business for 40 years and he highly recommends the Kawasaki motors over the Honda platform (he sells both)... never regretted the decision to go with this mower..

I have a Toro that is about 7 years old. It is a front wheel drive and I had to get a new front drive and gear box last summer. The old "worm" gear went bad.

The best walk behind mower I ever owned, had big rear wheels. The engine was a horizonal shaft and belt drive back to the rear axle. I changed out one pully to make it go a little faster.

I have a toro Timemaster, 30” cut, non-commercial version . I use it in my small yard service when the customer has a smallish yard and needs the clippings bagged. It will side discharge, mulch and bag and does a great job with all three.
If you move up from a 21” cut you will never go back to the smaller mower. Worth the money.

There all good! Just make sure u get one that the rear wheels are the ones that pull. I have had several front wheel ones and they don’t match up to a rear wheel especially if you bag ur lawn. Will only own a rear wheel going forward.

Agree. I have one half acre and went with the Snapper sw15 32”. Has a commercial Honda engine and hydro gear plus reverse. I still like to walk but wanted something a little faster than my old Honda 21”. The Toro is nice, too but I heard you should get the one with the big Briggs engine…not the weak Kawasaki one. It does not have reverse if I recall.

The one I have had a toro motor and starts first or second pull. The model with the Kawasaki motor is commercial with a welded deck and weighs a ton. Also over 2,000.00
