Smith and Wesson Model 500 would be my preference. The .45 acp would be more preferable, however it doesn't have as much range as the 9mm. It hits like a truck though.

Sig p365 of some variant. LCP max .380 is a great pocket gun and very concealable and those hornady critical defense are pretty stout. Never hurts to have a couple to choose from for different seasons when you are wearing different layers of clothes. Just train with whatever one(s) you get.

ETA: I will say that my SIL got a Shield EZ 9mm. I could not tell you how many times she had to adjust her grip because she wasn't disengaging the grip safety on the gun.
Didn't read the posts that followed yours, but I'll almost bet that somebody posted a different opinion.

I can't tell you how many people come to my classes assuming that what you posted is impossible. They say, "All you have too do is squeeze the grip."

The EZ Shields are fine weapons for some people. But there is always a trade-off with grip safeties. People have to get enough repetitions so that they'll disengage the safety every time -- no matter how quickly they had to establish their firing grip.

You've provided some very valuable info. I hope that people reading it believe you. Failing to disengage the grip safety really is a "thing."

The 15 rounders are for the 43X, not the 43.

Just remember that Shield hasn't yet got their design right. They are selling "Gen 2" mags (Gen 1 had a lot of problems), and they are still not reliable. I sent 6 Gen 2's back for inspection. They "adjusted" two, claimed two were within specifications, and sent me two new-in-package mags. After all that they still wouldn't feed every time.

Reportedly they are working on a Gen 3 mag. Maybe it'll be better.

Glock has a 9mm that fits well in pocket

Consider open carry though.
You don’t have to be obvious about it. If you wear it on your hip but untuck shirt, it’s open

I recently bought a Canik MC9, put a few hundred rounds through it and have really enjoyed it.

Only if you tuck your shirt behind the gun.

Open carry basically means fully visible. If you conceal the gun at all, it's concealed.
