There isn't just one that I could use, but if I had to pick one it'd be the palomar because I use braid. LINK

Need a good knot for line to line (mono to braid) and then braid to hook.

I wade out in Fort Desoto here in FL for trout/reds. Had some gigantic reds absolutely destroy my knots last time out. It was demoralizing

Braid use palomar, braid to mono double uni. For inshore, palomar and cinch are all you really need.

Are you sure it wasn't sharks. The mouth of TB is full of them.

Nevertheless, Ft Desoto is a fantastic park. I wish I lived closer to it.

I'm a fan of the trilene knot myself. Palomar a close second.

I hope not. I have a solid secret spot where I wade out pretty far. I've had a manatee swim by, but that's about it

I live ~15 mins away. Well worth the drive/$5 to fish

Braid to mono use uni
Mono to hook use the improved fisherman knot
Leader is usually about 2.5' for me, 2.5" by the end if the weekend.

Palomar is strongest, for 20# and under. Braid wire for leader? If you're talking about a power pro line you have it backwards. If teeth are problem get 40# bare braided wire recommend AFW. You would then do the modified snell on hook then figure 8 on swivel. I know the figure 8 looks suspect but it holds. Titanium wire you'd do the same with.

Don't worry about it unless you've got fish on a stringer. In that case they do make break away stringers.
