You liked it? I thought that my 6.2 F150 had more arse behind it and the 3.5 Ecoboost was much quicker. Maybe the GM 6.2 makes its power at a much higher RPM? Not good for a truck. Its a fine truck without a doubt. Just not worth a 5k premium for less options. A 6.2 SLT or High Country would make much more sense.

OU, my F150 was made at Dearborne (maybe Dearbourn, Im not going outside to look up the spelling).

Also, I am not debating the reliability of the 6.2, just the powerband. I drove it extensively in several test drives, never got it going like I thought it should though.

I got rid of it early, but it never bothered me.

Did you tune it off or remove it physically? I did not know that it could be physically removed, but saw a video of a buddy doing just that.

Interesting, as I have never driven the Ford 6.2.

I was basing my opinion on the 6.2 I had in the EXT and just how good the 6.2 was as an overall engine.

I liked it so much I bought it.

Depends who's driving it. It has the best V8 of any truck out there and that was very high on my list.

I'm probably around 5.0 seconds with a tune.

I hate the way the Silverado looks, and I didn't buy my truck to race the streets. I bought it to be fun and to tow my car to the track and my beater to the trails in style.

Look, look. You have great points. However, it seems that you are taking this personal. Its a truck. I am ecstatic that you like yours.

What are you talking about? I assure you I'm not fired up about this. I'm just letting you know what my experience has been owning the truck.

Likewise. Now, settle yourself.

I recently purchased a '16 F150 XLT SuperCrew 2.7 EB 4x2. One of my reasons was an aging GM with useless extended cab. The SuperCrew has stupid space in the rear, more than most SUVs. As crazy as it sounds, the flat floor of the F150 is also what sold me on it. Here is the F150 SuperCrew: LINK and here is the Tundra CrewMax: LINK

I went 2.7 because I don't tow anything and 2.7 is clearly enough. I went 4x2 because the first '16 I drove was 4x2 and I fell in love with it. The 2.7 4x2 is over 1000lbs lighter than any F150 offering in '14 (pre-aluminum) and maybe even more important is where the new F150 is lighter, up high. This makes the new F-150 very light on it's feet and it drives like a car or SUV. That could be a negative for towing but for what I need, an SUV with a bed, it's perfect. The 4x4 is pretty hard to find without the FX4 package and the combination of added weight and FX4 shocks... the 4x4's do not feel anything like the 4x2's. They are a bit more sluggish. In lieu of 4x4, I added electronic locking diff to the 4x2. Hopefully that will get me off of wet grass and when all else fails or trips to Elmer's, I have YOURADHERE on speed dial.

That being said, I've done a lot of research on the '15+ F150's and it appears they are not as solid as a choice as pre-aluminum. There are many, many TSB's and complaints from the '15s that are supposedly fixed on '16 but the jury is still out. The main issues seem to be creature comforts and miscellaneous items in Limiteds, King Ranches, and Lariats. From cooled seats to wind noise to push button start. I don't have any issues with my '16 knock on wood. I would definitely avoid '15s. It seems like a lot of these annoyances are fixed with '16's SYNC3 and updates. Other issues appear to be able to be addressed with later updates. For instance, setting what parameters activate the heated seats during remote start. Right now it's gotta be like 20 degrees.

Good informative post. Mine is a 15, not 16. I just had it checked and no TSBs on mine. Can you be more specific on which TSBs you were referring to?

How do you like the Sync 3? My FIL can't stand his and misses the sync out of his '13.

Start here: LINK

I test drove a few '15s and the SYNC 3 is an absolute upgrade. I didn't have much time with the '15s but compared to other infotainment systems, SYNC 3 is lighting fast and seamless when switching between different modes/menus/etc. It's not perfect but much improved.

What MPG are you getting? I'm still under 1000 miles and with all city driving I'm at 19.1 and I expect it to go north of 20 with some long trips over the coming weeks. By comparison, my GM 5.3 with AFM averaged 15.9mpg over it's life. So far I'm very happy with the 2.7.

I'd love to see this from my 6.2.

I'm happy to see 12.

Partial to tundra. Plenty of room in the backseat for kids to move around.

I drive like a bat out of hell and if I am in the city, my truck is in Sport mode.

My F250 averaged right around 18MPG, but it was deleted.
F150 6.2 was right around 15MPG
