Best cheaper trail camera that “gets the job done”

I’ve got an ordeal where I believe someone is running my camera while I’m not around. 1 spot I know I have plenty deer action comes up to be a few raccoons and a couple does nibbling on the feed. I pile up soybeans and it’s gone but not from the does that were there a couple minutes at a time. I’d like to get a camera to put across the way to see if someone is checking my good camera but don’t want to spend $200+ on it. Anyone run any cheaper cameras that work pretty well?

why don't you simply reposition and hide your game camera to spot above head high to be out of line of sight and point it at the original position from a wider field of view in order to capture a pic of "someone" coming in to check your camera...

I know I'll catch heat for it here, but get a WGI. I have three simply due to how cheap they were, and haven't had a single problem in three years. I run about 15 game cams and have been since the old 35mm cams were just on the scene.

Put a tiny strip of tape along the seam where you open it to access SD card. If you go back and it's disturbed = someone Fkd with it.

I know you don't want to spend $200+ on a game camera, but go and spend $200 on a game camera. I have pissed away hundreds of dollars over the years on cheap game cams trying to save a buck and none of them lasted worth a crap.
I bought a Spypoint last year that uses cellular uplink. Get 100 pics a month for free or 250 pics a month for $5 a month.
You can control everything from your smart phone and you will know the pics that are coming in before anyone can dick with your camera. If someone steals it, you can shut it down and flag it as stolen and if someone tries to set it up, Spypoint will know it is stolen.
You get what you pay for in this instance.

This might sound bad, but I kinda want to catch the fricker. I’ve got a couple pictures of him driving his four wheeler straight through my feed and a few of him passing by and scoping out the camera.
Granted I’m feeding next to a four wheeler trail, it’s “my spot”. Only 4 of us on 1500 acres bow hunt so we parcel off an area of the woods for ourselves and keep it that way til rifle season. It’s just funny he takes the long way around to go feed up his spot.

I've got a couple Primos Proof cameras that i have been very pleased with. They are cheap esp. if you catch them on sale.

no offense taken, sounds like you have the pics you need to go talk to the man and sort out your concerns like mature adults...

I left one up for a year straight, untouched. Works fine.
Bought two more of the "terra" line. I've usually had good luck with them.

3 options.
#1 your idea of a cheap camera hidden or high and out of sight focused on the original cam works.
#2 swap to a MMS camera and catch them coming in before they wipe it clean and you'll have pic proof of identity as well.
#3 I do this often when i'm skeptical. Just grab a dab of mud and smear it on the seal of the control panel cover where the SD card is. If that mud seal is broken when you return you know. If its dryed slick then I was just paranoid and probably hunting a crappy area. Mud doesn't send up a red flag to anyone like maybe a piece of tape would.

What if it rains?
Then I'm really paranoid.

I bought one of those chinese cameras off amazon for $60. Worked fine for me last year and I just tested it and it still works.

Matches shooting supply has the proof 1 cameras for 39 right now. Shipping is high but still to your door under 50. Not bad, I think they have some brownings for under 90.
