So I’m looking at a suppressor to play with my glock19 and 229legion.

I am initially looking at the obsidian 9, Tirant 9m, and the omega 9k

I am sorta ruling out the 9k as I think I want to be able to go for maximum sound suppression wow factor.

So between those two whatcha think?

I am leaning towards the tirant 9m due to it’s lighter weight.

What say yee

Do you have a .45?

You can go smaller but not bigger.
A .45 suppressed is ridiculous.

I’m sure a 9mm is the same but I’ve only shot pistols in .45 and .22.

Yeaah to me the only .45 I’ll ever own is a 1911.

I’m one of the 9 or die kinda guys and I really don’t like 40 at all.

Plus I don’t really want the extra size and weight of a 45 can

Volume is the key though. Im with you and sold all my 45s, but I'll still get a 45 can.

Yeah to a certain degree. I understand the importance of the volume. I just got a trash panda and that’s one of their huge selling points.

But there is always a line to be drawn. I just feel like the 9mm suppressors in their long setup will be plenty good enough in sound suppression while still maintaining a good size and weight.

Idk I could be very wrong tho.

Rugged Obsidian 45 is awesome. Obsidian 9 will be great too. I have shot the Griffin Revo 9 on a Carson's MPX and his M&P core and it sounded great. The Obsidian I have shot both short and long on an FNX .45. Q should be coming out with the pistol erector soon as well. Plenty of great choices. Rugged really does make bombproof stuff though and their warranty is like Vortex.

I have a dead air wolf 9sd in jail right now. I would take a good look at it. It’s also rated for .300 blackout supersonic. You can run it the same size as the omega, or as a full-size fan for maximum suppression

I really think that might be a bit heavy for me in full length

They have the best 30 cal can

I don’t believe there 22 cans are on par in terms of sound suppressions and accuracy. The erector is cool and it’s a novel idea but in all honesty I’m not super worried about having a 5” can

I’m not knocking Q I just bought a trash panda. But I do think you need to hop off the dick. Especially once you have started letting your emotions affect your opinions.

they're up there, but not the best. Thunderbeast has the best rimfire can right now

agreed, im not interested. may get one later because of how light they are.

i have no clue what you're talking about. I bought a Fix and started a thread, then made a post about my TP getting approved, and all of a sudden I'm on their dick and letting my emotions drive me? gtfo dude. they put out a good product and I am confident in recommending them. all these other suppressor companies are going to shite and losing their best employees, I'd rather support companies like Q, Rugged, and Dead Air that are trying to be innovative rather than the has-beens like SiCo and AAC that are shells of what they once were.

I’m mostly talking about the fact that you will confidently make statements like the fact that the cherry bomb won’t ever get stuck in the can but there have been multiple instances of that exact thing happening caught on video reviews.

The hopping off the dick was a joke don’t take it so personally. I still respect your opinion above most on this board.

we cranked a cherry bomb onto my tapered shoulder with 0 thread locker and a 1" socket then marked the 3 and 9 positions with a marker. we then cranked the TP onto the cherry bomb with a 1" socket as tight as we could. Had to use the socket to get it back off. the 3 and 9 marks were still perfectly aligned. maybe I shouldve done it a dozen times to see if it moved over time and repeated crank-downs.

I can't speak for a 90deg shoulder (I can test if you want), but you should always use threadlocker on 90deg shoulders anyway. devices getting stuck in cans isn't an issue that's specific to Q cans, it happens all the time with people that improperly install their muzzle devices. I've had my Omega get so locked up that I had to take if off with a strap wrench, and if I hadn't properly installed my ASR brake, it would've come with it. If that ever happens, do exactly what you described earlier in the other thread. it's not the end of the world if it happens.

bottom line is: tapered or non-tapered, if you use threadlocker to install your muzzle device (and install it with the proper amount of torque), it would take something anomalous to get it to come off while unthreading your can. if people are are that worried about devices coming off with the can, then they should go the direct thread route.

word. I still think you should wait and see how the centerfire erector is, but the Obsidian cans and the Dead Air cans are very good as well. Obsidian 9 and Wolf 9SD if you're dead set on avoiding the 45 cans. Love my Octane 45 as well.

Yeaah I agree with the tapered shoulder being damn near impossible to unthread.

But the 90 degree shoulder it seems like it’s an occurrence if not using thread locker. I will say if thread locker is used I don’t see it being an issue.

And no the muzzle device not getting stuck is not only an issue for Q but the fact that it is a suppressor over thread device makes it trickier if it does get stuck

22 Takedown

Taking into account sound reduction, pitch, tone, accuracy, maintenance, and weight, it is the rimfire can to own right now. Looks great too.

I still think that the Element II is the best rimfire can of all time, but AAC is a totally different company now and I'm not sure if the quality is still there. I got mine way before they went to the trashcan, and I'd rather support a shop like Thunderbeast at this point. The cans are very similar (basically 1A and 1B imo) and you'd be fine with either one. Sound signature of both is stellar. 0 FRP and very nice tone. The Element II is a bit lighter, but the TB is easier to clean. Much prefer the baffle design of the TB.

it's a top 5 can. Q sees it as the evolution of the Element II, but I haven't shot it side by side to compare sound signatures. It's lighter and much easier to take down though, and you get a much better finish (PVD). Need to shoot them to compare
