About to pull the Trigger on a leftover 2017 F250. Looking at either a Retrax or Bakflip MX 4. I like the Retrax but its a little more $$$ than the MX4. Any suggestions?

I have a Bakflip G2; I wouldn't want anything else

Everytime I start looking at these, I see the prices again and stop looking.

Undercover ultraflex. It comes with a longer warranty than the backflip. It also comes with some led lights for the bed and a side mounted cargo bag. I paid around $850 for mine. Short bed f150.

Bakflip MX4, I've had mine a few months now and love it. I paid $720 shipped for a Silverado 1500 5'8" bed from Truck Alterations

I have had the backflip f1 for almost 3years.
Starting to slightly fade, but I probably should maintain it with a treatment like tire dressing.
Tracks get debris in them and can be a bit of a pain to get cleared sometimes
They do leak, but just a few select spot and its a drip
The drainage tubes need clamps on the cover part
The back rubber flap to seal the tailgate seems to have issues with not seating correctly about 1/2 the time, but is easily fixed, just annoying.
I have nothing to compare to, but overall I like my backflip, those are just all the detractors I have come across so far

In other words, it sucks
No, those are just the minor nitpicks. Almost all covers are going to leak, the other issues are minor

Go to Auto Anything but don't pay the advertised price. They have a chat feature and wait until they offer at least 10% off
You're welcome

I have the retrax on my 2016 GMC 2500. I've been pretty happy with it. I like the locking mechanism in any position. Some small leakage at the tailgate.

Do you lose bed space with the retrax?

I've had 2 bakflips on 2 different trucks and both were far superior to any roll up cover I have seen.

yes, which is why all retractable covers suck

Especially on a 5.5' bed. The backflip is easily removed as well if you dont want it blocking your rear window

Exactly

I did this with my Amp Research steps. $1190, no tax, free shipping. For the '17 F150, found prices ranging from $1300-1700 for the same steps at multiple places.
A guy at my office did the same for his bed cover.
Very fast shipping too.
