Fresh water fished for years with a 18' Champion.

Now since relocating down on the Gulf Coast I need some salty help.

TIA

If you can afford it Boston Whaler Dauntless. 21’. That’s what I’d go with.

Get a 25 foot panga. It will do everything and more.

Frontier 2104. Maybe you can pick one up on the way down depending when you're moving.

Pathfinder.

Check boat sales in Florida for a low-time used boat and save the depreciation. Good deals to be had if you’re willing to travel.

Blackjack 224. Warning: They are not the low-cost leader, but they are one of the best.

If your willing and able, expand your search to the whole state. Lots of snowbirds down there have more money than sense and get a new boat every two or three years. My father purchased his Pathfinder down in Vero Beach. Great boat and saved a ton of money

How much are you wanting to spend? 20k? 75k?

New? Used?

Gulf Coast is many miles long, if Tx I would look at majek, Haynie, Transport, , La. any of those + black jack, Blue wave, PF, blazer bay, Ms/Al/Fl , PF, BB, BJ, Blue Wave.
Assuming you’re a Baller and price isn’t an issue.

Be warned. Everyone just gonna come on here and pimp the brand of their currently owned boat.

However you didn’t really lay out many guidelines. There is an enormous array of boats with different pros and cons to choose from when it comes to fishing the Louisiana Gulf Coast.

I think frontier is the best performance and build quality for the price in that size range right now.

Have a 22’ Epic for sale. Don’t have many hours on it either. The widest and possibly most spacious boat. 200 Yamaha on back.

Post email and can send price and details.

As a few have said Pathfinder makes a solid bay boat and you can get good deals in Florida if you want a road trip. I have a 2002 2200 hull with a 2018 Suzuki 200 motor and dig the fishability of the hull. Have also fished out of Mavericks and Blue Waves and Skeeters. All good bay boat choices.

How much?

On an unrelated note, is it just me or are boats for sale on thehulltruth over priced?

Used Boats, vehicles, atvs, etc are all fetching a premium right now

I also wonder if the people suggesting going to Florida have actually looked at used boat prices lately. Sure, that was a good plan at one time but I am not seeing many deals anywhere

Probably over priced because dealers can't keep new inventory in stock and even if you can order one, its still probably going to take a couple months to come in. Definitely a sellers market
