I have a few bats living in the brick columns of my carport. Should I be concerned? It's pretty cool to sit out and watch them fly in and out. Only see about 2 or 3 each night. Should I get them out or let them stay?

If they aren't bothering you than I would say you're alright for now, BUT just be aware that they do carry and spread disease.

Big problem down the line with guano, move them to a bat house if possible or get rid of them...

THIS.

Been there, done that. Learned the hard way. Don't allow the situation to remain. Look up "Bat Excluder", then make & install one.

Install a bat house close and they will move in there. They eat bunches of insects and that is a good thing in S. LA.

Do it soon and at a decent distance.

Cover the hole in the column at night when they are out. Then seal the hole, because trust me..they come back if left open again. It is cool when you first notice them, but the smell down the road, the forfeiture of using your garage space at night if your lights attract a lot of bugs and the diseases they carry are not worth it.

Get rid of them before your carport smells like A&M. They're good to have around, but not too close.
