Baton Rouge DU Event Thurdsay...

Anyone on the OB going? Awesome auction items at this:

1. John Barton, Sr. Walking stick. Donated by the Barton Family

2. Father & son or daughter Bird Banding Expedition with the LA Dept of Wildlife & Fisheries. Assist the LDWF capture, band and release wood ducks. Trip will be between July and September within in 30 miles of Baton Rouge.

3. Dove Hunt for two in Argentina with David Denies Wingshooting. Luxury lodging for two days and three nights at La Dormida Lodge in Cordoba, Argentina. All field guides, meals, room/board, transfers to and from the field and beverages provided.

4. Fly Fishing for two in The Bahamas with Nervous Waters. Lodging for four nights at the Abaco Lodge in Great Abaco Island, Bahamas. All fishing guides, meals, room/board, transfers to/from Marsh Harbour Airport and all beverages provided.

5. 2013 Rifle of the Year - Remington Model 700 ADL Bolt Action .270 Winchester Rifle

6. Duck Hunting Trip for two at Oak Grove. Trip for two at one of the oldest & most distinguished duck clubs in Louisiana. Two night stay at the 13,500 sq. ft. Lodge which was recently rebuilt after Hurricane Rita, and hunt Oak Groves’ 10,000 acre beautiful marsh. Donated by Richard Lipsey

7. Duck hunt opening weekend of 2nd Split at Grey Point for two with meals and lodging and guides included. Two night stay at the lodge. Donated by Terrell Brown

8. Argentinean Freshwater Golden Dorado Fishing for Two People 4 days fishing, 5 nights lodging, donated by Nervous Waters. Stay at Pira Lodge in Corrientes, Argentina.

9. Longleaf Plantation: One night stay for four people. Includes four meals and a full day of shooting quail for four in Lumberton, MS. (272 quail and ammo included plus 8 pheasants).

10. Fishing daytrip for 2 to Redwood Ranch in Wilson, LA at Trophy Bass and Sac-A-Lait Lake. Donated by Annette Barton

11. Offshore fishing trip for three out of Venice, LA. Two nights and one full day of tuna fishing. Guided by Capt. Richard Creed. Donated by the Creed Family.

12. Turkey Hunt for one hunter at Beech Grove Plantation. Hunt during the spring of 2013. Hunt guided by the famous Wascom Brothers.

13. Weekend Teal Hunt at Oak Grove for two. Morning teal hunt and an overnight stay in the guest lodge. Meals and guides provided. Donated by Ryan Haynie

14. 2013 Handgun of the Year - Kimber Custom II .45 ACP 1911 Semiautomatic Pistol.

15. Red Snapper fishing trip for four out of Cocodrie, LA. Includes a two night stay and meals at Camp Alibi. Donated by Stephen Babcock

16. Speckle Belly Goose hunt for two at Sweet Lake Land & Cattle Company in Cameron Parish. One night of lodging. Must be a weekday. Donated by John Pace.

17. Covey Rise Package: One night lodging for 6 hunters, dinner for six with Executive Chef, Skeet shooting and a quail hunt for six. Donated by Sinclair Kouns and Brad Dutruch

18. Springfield .45 ACP. Completely boxed and includes all accessories. Donated by Lipsey’s

19. 2013 Shotgun of the Year - Fausti Silvery DU 2013 Over/Under Shotgun

I don't know about DU, but Delta Waterfowl banquets at LSU are often just as expensive as the 'normal' ones. Young kids with daddy's money and booze can create quite an auction stir

The cheapest DU auction I ever went to was in the LP... New bowtech went for like 250. 4 day 3 night trips for 3 were going for 800 bucks

Havent seen one advertised since...

Haven't been to a DU banquet in years. Do they still have the "Duckling" hostesses? Been to a few that got very "interesting" by the end of the night.
