I agree, but I know several people who pay top dollar for leases that are very hit and miss

Anyone serious about duck hunting needs to lease. There's nothing like it. I just couldn't enjoy waking up and not knowing IF I'd have a spot much less be crowded.

Get a couple buddies and go in on a 4 man blind.

Yeah, I'll pass on being stuck in one blind all year. You got to be mobile while duck hunting.

Oppose ALL limitations on hunting. IF we don't it will lead to show up in a parking lot and PRAY your name gets drawn if not go home. Look at hunting opportunities in MO or IL. It SUCKS!

I hunted pearl river this year. We stayed at a camp near the launch and would listen for the number of boats flying by at breakfast. If we counted over a certain # we went to the lease, under and went to the wma.

I disagree. It makes for a miserable time when people who have no fricking idea come and ruin shite. Ill be the first to admit, I'm not the best duck hunter, hell I'm pretty shitty, but I know to respect another man's spot and not hunt on top of him if he beats me to an area. More regulation on public land wouldn't solve a problem, but it couldn't hurt.

And the only thing that pisses someone off more than not killing any birds is paying several thousand dollars to not kill any birds.

We did the same, only we left as soon as we heard the first boat leave to get a spot.

Sure, you might be skunked if you go out, but you can't kill em if you aint with em.

You don't know what you're missing. Shell box already there, etc.

Hardly. We've had blinds we hunted for years and killed a plenty.

exactly. I honestly had zero desire to hunt for the last 5 or so weeks of the season. I may just say frick it and fish all winter this year.

I am lucky to have some friends with top notch leases that I get to hunt often, once I get done being a broke college student I will have my own lease. That being said there is some amazing public hunting to be had in this state. Anyone who was in the contest this year was witness to that, the top three guys all hunt public if I remember correctly. I myself had some pretty damn top notch hunts last year on what is considered marginal public land.
