I'm not supposed to have it at work because we sell alcohol. Being that I walk all of the girls out and no one is going to be intimidated by me I bring mine anyways. The detail cops that work for me are all aware and support it. I don't bring it out during business hours.

I work for a contractor and drive my personal truck into the refinery everyday right up to my office. Never been searched in nearly 2 years. One of the largest refineries on the gulf coast by the way. Scary when you think about it.

My boss told me about a year ago to go buy a handgun with my work credit card as long as I bring it to work everyday. I took him up on that.

Yes. It's part of why they hired me

At my job you can do whatever the hell you want. Bring dogs, guns, beer, and I am sure there have been smokable substances in the history of that place. You can skip working fridays if you need to fly or boat to your cabin.

There are signs indicating that it's not allowed. The owner is a princeton educated neo liberal outsourcing skittle shitting unicorn cumbayah singing, bad things never happen to good people kind of guy. Ie not a realist. In fact he has what I call 'terminal optimism'.
There are lots of signs that tell us to do lots of things that many of us ignore. Like speed limit signs, no smoking signs, stop signs, et al.
Suffice to say that I and a number of my male colleagues have agreed that no mass shooting will occur at my place of employment without full and immediate resistance. And we've laid off a bunch of people in the last two weeks. Good employees with long tenures. Executive bonuses and shareholder dividends are all that matters any more. Employees are viewed as resources that must be exploited for maximum profit at minimal cost.
So there may be some disgruntled individuals who are now being forced to accept that reality. And it isn't an easy pill to swallow. So some people may be feeling angry, betrayed, and a number of 50 ish males may feel they are in a hopeless position. Remember, when people have nothing left to lose, they lose it.
Me= realist: I hope for the best, but I expect the worst.
But no, I don't conceal carry at work.

Yes. But I work for myself. My partner and I at lunch were talking about it and I told him I don't carry every day. He wants me to start carrying everyday So I will.

I've never been told not to. Always have one in the truck. Usually in my briefcase, in/on my desk, on my person, or somewhere within arms-reach when in the office. When I'm working in the field I usually leave everything in the truck unless I'm on a piece of property with hogs. Then the landowners usually let me carry a rifle or shotgun to kill whatever I want.
I have 3 kids and a wife to take care of. I really don't go anywhere without a gun. Our preacher, who is a great friend of mine, asked me a couple years ago to start carrying to church on Sunday's "just in case." At the end of the day I want to be able to say I did everything in my power to keep the good guys/gals free of extra holes.

I work at a hospital so it's against the law, but I really wish I could. We have some crazies coming in and out of this place.

Plant workers aren't protected at all
It would be ridiculously easy for a plant worker with an intent to kill to do so. Scary stuff.

Work in a federal building so no guns. I just take my Kabar into work with me

I carry sometimes...always have one in my truck. My need is more for critters than people. Snakes, bears, etc.
