I haven't given him any cash. I just told him I wanted it and he said he would tell anyone else who calls that it was sold. I can't get anything in writing yet because he's over an hour away. I'm going to have a bill of sale written up and notorized when I actually give him any money, but his bank won't actually give me the title until the check clears.

Gotcha. I thought you were going to do all this on a stranger's word.

Find out what bank he uses and purchase a cashier's check from them.

I love standing and "poling" in my KC

I struck a verbal deal with the seller for this boat. Now I don't know how this works. I'm paying cash, but the seller has to pay off his loan. His bank is saying the title won't be released until my check clears, which can take 6-10 days. Is that normal. Can I take and use the boat without the title? I don't feel like its a very good deal for me since I'm paying money on my end up front, but I don't own the boat for possibly a week and a half. And I really don't feel like walking around with that much cash, if bringing actual cash would speed it up.
Certified funds check.
And I recommend getting a push pole platform over the motor. It's awesome for poling for reds.

I got lucky on Louisiana Sportsman. I was planning a trip to South Florida for the end of the summer to try and scope a few out, but randomly came across this boat while looking around the classifieds.
The boat is loaded, at least for me. 80 lb thrust trolling motor, poling platform, GPS, Power Pole, Lenco trim tabs, hydraulic jack plate, hydraulic steering. I'm pretty excited.
