First rise this late might be worth the trouble.

West of Houston - green wings have not been back since the freeze. Normally we are shooting blues, greens and a cinny or two this last week of the season. Need a humping south wind to help them back.

Pintail flocks have been outrageous. One and done, pick the biggest sprig.

Gadwall have been the saving grace the last two weeks. They stayed when the prairie locked up with the freeze.

We shot 6 Thursday Gadwall, green wing teal, and a never seen before Canvasback.

We shot 15 today, Green wing Teal, Gadwall, and crazy but Scaup. We had Pennies and wigeon working the spread, but little no wind.

Should be better tomorrow. South West Oklahoma. I have never seen this many green wings and Pennie’s up here this late, birds overall seem less than December numbers.

Any recommendations on clubs/leases to look into? I am in Katy and looking for something looking for something either Eagle Lake, El Campo or down on the coast. I have ATV and boat so fields or coast works.

Walked in to the blind. It was one with the pond. No pumping that out. Had to sit on the levee and watch ducks flare. 3 greenies and a grey. Feel like we could have had a nice string if we weren't sitting on the levee.

Last weekend of the season was first time we had enough water to hunt all season. Could have killed more than we did, but was trying to get my 10yr old his first duck. He finally connected on a woodie. Worth it.

Little birds finally showed back up on Friday west of Houston. 3 days of 12 man limits fast and furious.

They were two weeks late; better late than never I guess.

Evening hunt to close out season #47. (Did not shoot this morning)
