Same in Venice. Fished Satuday-Monday and did no see anything but mottle ducks and whistlers.

Not sure how yall's feed looks, but the saltwater already killed a 70-80% of the grass that was growing back in June.

Grass in the bayou black area is hit and miss. Some areas have a lot - other areas that typically have a lot, have none. No teal yet, though. I didn't realize saltwater was an issue again this year in Venice. I guess the river has been low all summer. - not good.

I haven't scouted much in past week but with this weekends temps dropping into the upper 40 sat-mon any birds we have will get pushed down. I'm hoping the majority are still above us and get pushed to us but my misfortune may be yalls blessing.

Rivers between 2.5-3.5 foot with tide range. The Jump is lime green salt water. River Was up around 6ft in May but quickly dropped in June-July (especially July).

State is working on underwater damn now to stop the salt barrier from coming up river and effecting water supply again.

caught jacks in the jump and baptiste last weekend trying to flip for bass. All the switch grass and scissor cane is turning brown in most the spots in delta duck that we fish.

Didnt see any last weekend either. but we will go and if anything just go snapper fishing after watching the sunrise.

We passed through red pass - then pass a loutre, coming from grand isle to get to Northeast pass for Tarpon in July. It appeared there was some vegetation in the Marsh. Was hoping for a better year down there. How's the bass fishing been? Typically when the river is low this time of year, bass fishing is off the charts good - 100 bass days, easily.

Caught a bunch on Raphel and Emaline. not that many, but we put our three man on ice and ran to catch reds on the passes.

Mottle ducks are off the charts this year (well until they get shot by all the teal hunters)

West of Houston - got another push of birds in the last 3 days. Should be a solid opener.

Water will be super high this weekend. With the river being so low, I’m sure there will be significant salt water

Went last weekend.

Low river, infinite mottle ducks/whistlers, redfish in the Jump, and dead/no grass in the ponds. The same tale of 2023 Venice teal season unfortunately.

The little grass I did see was on Baptiste. Delta Duck has no feed in ponds. Down river looks even worse other than Sawdust.

Eastside of H-town is loaded and I saw a video that some buddies sent me from Saturday in a field down near Angleton off 2004 and there are thousands.

Same. My old man was out re-building his blind and goofing most of yesterday and didn't see anything on either side of the Antill.

How's ya'll grass lookin? A lot of areas around us is slim pickns...

Salt water last winter screwed the area up pretty bad. We are fortunate right now, as our property has about 70% of what it usually has, but our neighbors only have about 25%. Only the coves have grass, the big open lakes are vacant. Not good for the ringers or coot.
