Talked to a guy who said he's got a couple thousand in his adjacent fields in Thornwell area. He told me a few months ago he'd trade me a teal trip for a speck fishing trip but I never lined it up. Still optimistically waiting for an invite.

Supposedly Wildlife & Fisheries are going to somehow fly low through there to stir them up

Who the shite is going to fly a plane low enough to stir up a bunch of teal and also be willing to risk running into several thousand ducks. You couldn't pay me to be on that plane.

You haven't seen those crop dusters have you.

They probably get off thinking about dodging teal while flying under power lines.

Any updates reports? A few birds spotted in Acadia parish, but nothing like it was last year. May have to wait until a front passes through next weekend.

Pretty good cool front pushing down through Arkansas this weekend.... Maybe there is a chance.

I'm banking on the full moon next week though for it to get right.

I saw one teal on Delta Monday. Saw about 50 by fort Jackson. If we don't get birds from the temp change going to be a fishing and drinking weekend in Venice. That being said on my way tomorrow about 7 am. Quarantine bay for lunch.

Yep. I'm letting him hunt Saturday and I'll make a decision weather to fish or hunt based on their report.

Fishing and drinking not a bad option but I sure did get the itch after shooting some doves. I hope the cool front pushes a few down.

Aerial survey in SE LA was very poor. I flew lines from Atchafalaya to Venice and saw zero teal. My co-observer saw a few, but the overall estimate will be less than 1,000.

But y'all know how quickly that can change.

I highly doubt WLF would spend tax money fueling and flying planes just to "stir up" resting masses of teal on a farm they deemed illegal to hunt. That would seriously be some shite only Louisiana would do.

WLF gets no tax money....

but.. more importantly this would be illegal...

Venice looks bleek... More beer drank than teal seen.
