John deere 3025D is a pretty good value. Yanmar engine, no aftertreafment, went back to iron transmission and axle housings.

I think its their attempt to build a good budget friendly tractor again.

My buddy has a 2014 Kubota BX25 that we use at the camp. We haven’t had any issues with it.

Kubota is the original in the Subcompact category.

I have a BX2360 and it is one of the greatest things I ever bought.

I got it from Lemann’s in Donaldsonville- they are Range now. Likely will have a bunch in stock

Not a subcompact.

Apparently they were tired of getting their asses handed to them by Kubota and the 2501, so they copied it.

And don’t forget the fantastic Sunshine service and customer experience that comes with a 3025D

I bought a bobcat CT1025 and it’s been great. The loader was free too

Bought a Kubota l2501 with front end loader in January of this year. Wanted to stay away from the regen junk so went with the 25hp instead of bigger. It's honestly done everything I need it to do and more. Id recommend it.

So 25hp and under tractors don’t have all of the emissions BS?

This doesn't seem to be a big deal on tractors, I don't really notice when mine goes into regen. I wouldn't let it dictate what hp tractor I buy.

Most (all maybe) have EGR, but under 25hp does not have aftertreatment or DPF.

I’ve been using a friends Mahindra 1816. 18 HP 4WD 4’ loader.

This is a good tractor. I can handle 400+ pounds of material in the bucket.

It is very good at doing what little tractors do. But it wont do big tractor work.

I just sold my Kioti CK20S. It was a 21HP tractor and gave me zero issues. Only reason I sold it is I'm upgrading to a bigger tractor.

If the newer models are like the one I had, I would recommend them to anyone.

I’m contemplating upgrading my 1986 model Case IH 235 tractor to a new 40hp 4WD tractor with loader.

Are there any new model tractors that I could expect 30 years of reliable performance from with minimal maintenance costs? The only maintenance and repairs done to my 235 are: fluid and filter changes, batteries, new tires, new radiator and new water pump.

Is that a true statement re: Sunshine or a veiled slight? I ask because I’m heading over there this week to look at a tractor.

I have a Mahindra 1635 and really pleased with it. They also make a 26 as well.

I know a few people who wouldn't buy an air filter from them much less a tractor, if that tells you anything.

John Deere has developed a reputation for atrocious service in the past few years. I doubt it's as big of an issue on the small stuff, but the rep is there.

I'd much prefer to buy from Lehmanns in donaldsonville if I had a choice.

The new 3025D does seem to be the best value going right now though when they are running one of their very aggressive sales. I think you can still get one with a loader and a bush hog for $20k in certain months.

I have a 20 year old John Deere 4610. It's been a great tractor. But, if I had to buy a new tractor today, it would be something other than JD because of their service issues on new machines. I also wouldn't get a Mahindra. I have a buddy that has had a lot of issues on his.

So I guess I'd go with Kubota or Case.

I had a 1025r. Great tractor but I needed something bigger. Traded it for a 2038r. I highly recommend the 1025r if you only want a subcompact.

I had a John Deere for years, never had a problem.
FYI:

“ The engines in John Deere Compact Utility Tractors are actually made by Yanmar. John Deere's agreement with Yanmar dates back to the 1970s. These diesel engines are compact, efficient, and high quality.”
