If so, what are your recommendations in that world? A micro 1911 (or 2011 or whatever the newer ones are called)?

I Carry a springfield xde45 da/sa apendix, and an Iwi Jericho 941 f9 da/sa in a shoulder holster. The 941 is too big and heavy to carry concealed any other way but it shoots like a dream. Rode 5 hours straight on my bike and forgot I had it on with the craft holsters verticle roto. I like my xde just fine too. I'll be getting a cz p07 9mm da/sa for my edc 9 mil in the future.

I EDC a Sig P238 mostly, whatever you go with just make sure you use a good holster.

I don't daily carry them, but I have some in my rotation. I love gen 3 Smiths, and they are really nice guns for the money, you rarely find one worn out. Micro guns, I like the Sig 938. Not really a 1911 but is really familiar if that is your jam.

Thank yall for the suggestions. I'm going to look into them.

Classic Sig FTMFW (they're heavy though)
The P229 is about the profile of a Glock 19. Feels twice the weight although I love them.
They never really mastered the Baby Glock size with a double stack.
The old school P239 is a beauty (single stack, though) and discontinued so it will be tough to find. It was never a very high volume so finding accessories will be tough as well.
I also carried a PPK in .380 back in the day.

I carry a P229 daily. Its a big bitch but owb is just fine.
DA/SA is my favorite for a carry pistol. Very safe with no manual safeties.

I have a P239 that I wear iwb on my hip when I’m wearing a coat or sports jacket. Like said above, discontinued, but it had everything I was looking for with the DA/SA and the hammer/decocker. You can still find magazines. Also, the Short Reset Trigger kit makes the reset very short and reduces the trigger creep to nothing.
In the house it doubles as my wife’s gun since she can use it like a revolver. Just point, pull the trigger, and shoot.

I edc'd a HK p2000 for a few years. I'ts basically a slimmed down USP compact. Loved it, but ended up going to a baby glock. Still think about going back.
CZ P-01 is a great hammer compact also. The most accurate compact I've ever fired.

Look at the different variants of the HK P30sk, and P2000sk. They’re all hammer fired, just in different configurations.

I forgot about HK for hammers. That CZ looks nice. I have wanted a p229 or p226, or any sig with a hammer and decocker forever, not necessarily for carrying concealed but every time I decide its time to get something new I can't find them.

Occasionally I carry a full size 1911, but not often.
Usually I carry sig p365 with a stream light tlr6 in a vedder holster. Great little package. Very concealable, lightweight, and holds lots of rounds.
Before the sig, I carried the ruger lc9. Really like it, but prefer the higher round count in the p365.

I just don't shoot any other pistol nearly as well as a classic, all metal Sig with hammer/decocker. The .45 ACP models are my all time faves, in particular a P245 I would feel okay defending myself in the dark it points and shoots so well.

Not EDC but occasionally I carry the Sig 1911 or the good old West German made 228.

That is basically how I feel about the classic Sig in 9 or .45. I also did the LC9 (first gen) for a while but went to the LCP 2. Technically those are internal hammers I guess and not striker but even the smaller Sig's with traditional hammers and all steel are so nice. I just notice at every local shop I go to its basically all the striker sig's now (P320s, 365s, etc) and those are great options, I just want to find a decent DA/SA. Seen a few legion p220 somethings in 10mm but they're expensive and not exactly what I was looking for (even though I would LOVE to have one).

i carry a HK P2000sk da/sa. Its a slim downed double stack that i absolutely love to carry. Spare mags are for full size with a grip extender for more rounds. I've also carried it with the extra capacity mags.

Yeah I was just looking at the HKs. Look like fine machinery. Love the hammers, with they were a little bit bulkier hammers, but it is probably to make them more tactical, or for concealability.

Team Kimber Micro 9 checking in here. The Micro 9 gets a lot of use in my cc rotation. It's light, carries well, is attractive and shoots really accurately for me. I don't know what more it can do. When I first got it, the SA trigger was an unacceptable 10#, but it dropped to 7# after not many rounds had been shot in it. I carry it in a SW Special snap on holster.. The Ronin holster is good looking and carries the Micro 9 so well it's easy to forget it's there.
