Good idea about the treble hook and snagging

We've caught the biggest gators by snagging
Bought the biggest treble hooks we could find a couple years ago & the gators would straighten the hooks, Buy the big hooks & weld them together. When trying to snag make sure you don't get caught up in the line. They will pull a 15' boat around awhile before tiring.

I will have this on GoPro

The daughter recorded our big one last year with her phone. If I knew how to put them together & post it I would

Hang em high so you reduce the chance of catching a little one. WE used sun-baked, expired leg quarters, prepare to have to wear that stink off.

This is what we do. Teal hunts down here in SE TX are over by 0900 for the most part if your spot is worth a frick. Rest of the day= nap, fish, watch football, and go catch gators.

If you don't have your limit 30 minutes into shooting time you probably won't get it here

True. It's usually the first 30 or so here too and if you don't have limits we might stretch it to then, but it's rare.

This is more my style.

So just drive around spotlighting for the bigguns, treble hook snag, kill shot?

Get you a young boy, named after a man of the cloth, tie a rope around his waist, throw him in the swamp.
