I'm tired of being my own tilt & trim on my 25hp Yamaha. From my limited research, there seems to be 3 aftermarket options:

CMC PT-35

Panther Model 55

Bob's Machine

Anyone have any personal experience with any of these? Seems like CMC is the most common, followed by Bob's, there's hardly any reviews on Panther that I can find.

I'd install it myself on a 14' aluminum jonboat, used in freshwater.

Thanks.

If you got the bones, go with the Bob’s. I’d follow second choice with the CMC. Have never heard of the Panther so would be leary because of that. Vance may make one too but I’m not positive.

we had a CMC for years on an old 50 hp mariner. All i can say is it out lasted the engine. Never had any issues with it and never added oil if i remember correctly either.

From my research, the OEM unit only works on outboards that had factory trim and not the outboards without it. Basically, only a replacement, not an add on.

You made the right choice. I had the larger version for a 50hp Honda. Always worked. No issues. It just gets the job done!

Finished installing the CMC. I had to rig a couple of come-alongs to my garage ceiling to lift the motor off. Worked well. Still haven’t run it yet.

Is that on a 1436 rivet jon?? Could you post some more pictures of how you reinforced the transom? I just got a 25 for mine

I think it’s a 14/42. The boat had a Tohatsu 40? before the Yamaha 25. The guy reinforced the transom and took the 40 off. I’ll get some pics after work and post.

Thanks, I bet that boat was scary with a 40. Mine hit 33 with more to go in the pond yesterday

Aluminum diamond plate was welded in the corners and a aluminum plate on on both sides of the transom.

Damn, thanks for posting. That is legit. I'm bolting a Jack plate and aluminum plate on mine but I think it still needs some extra support.

You know even with a 25hp motor, you are over rated there. What is the plate rated HP? I have a 14'/42 alweld that is maxed rated at 15hp.

My plate says max of 25 hp. It’ll run mid 20s mph.
