Oklahoma has really been coming on as a trophy state in recent years.

Saw that on a couple FB groups I'm on. Love hunting up there.
Definitely a deer of a lifetime, but I don't think it will top the Hanson buck.

Oklahoma is leaving it's sleeper state status unfortunately. I hope I can still get in a few years before they start changing nonresident licenses.

That's insane. Glad to see it was a young person. Unfortunate part is he hit the Pinnacle of his deer hunting

I'm not a deer hunter, but is that a gut shot? Maybe it's the camera angle

To bad it will never make any of the record books.

"a teen out of Oklahoma, arrowed this incredible 8×8 buck last night while hunting over a wheat field."

Pretty sure to make any of the books it must be taken legally and it is illegal to hunt at night even with a bow.

I didn't assume he killed it illegally? Kind of strange way to read the article.

I am insane but not retarded. It has always just been a pet peeve of mine when hunters say night instead of evening.

I've hunted SE Oklahoma, they have some monsters.

That's a hell of a deer, near perfect 8x8

Depends on the angle the deer was standing in relation to him when he shot. If quartering away, he probably put the arrow right behind the last rib which would likely make it exit the opposite front shoulder/leg area penetrating both lungs and probably some liver.

with the way people hunt by camera now a days, i couldn't imagine having that thing on my camera. I'm not even a die hard hunter and I wouldn't be able to function in daily life without thinking about that hammer walking in my plot.
