I stumbled upon these engines on YouTube again yesterday, and was thinking that I haven't ever seen one IRL (probably because of the price tag). They sound bad arse though. I think the 557 is out of a CTS-V and the 627 is out of a Vette. Pretty amazing engineering behind them.

I saw a 37 Freeman in Orange Beach last summer that had twin 627 Sevens. It was mind blowing.

This one is in Grand Isle...

Actually both motors utilize the same engine, the 627 makes the extra Hp by using an optimized combustion chamber

Doesn't make sense, so build it. A CTS-V/Vette engine in an outboard? frick it, let's do it.

Check out their website man. Might make you want to become an outboard salesman LINK

Looks like twin 557s surpass triple yammy 350s and triple verado 300s in mpg at between 40 and 45mph on their Intrepid 370.

At 65mph (rare, I know):

2-557s = 72.2 GPH
3-350s = 92.9 GPH
3-300s = 98.5 GPH

I'm skeptical. Something stinks about those numbers.

I bet. The one I saw in OBA was running in big seas and was not checking up. It was insane how fast it was running in large, stacked waves.

You don't have to check up. It eats big seas unlike any boat I have ever been in.
