Any of you guys done it? Recommendations?

I use my mine when I go fishing and am looking for a little more light.

FWIW - 2015 Sierra

TIA

UPDATE (after use)

OK I waited until I used them a few times before commenting.

They're definitely "cleaner" than the OEM bulbs but they don't "appear" to be brighter BUT I think I see a little more than before....if any of that makes sense . Glad I didn't replace the entire light and only replaced the bulbs.

I just replaced the bulb with an LED one. It’s much easier to see loading my kayak in my truck early in the morning. Was $12 I think

Most folks on Tacoma world and 4runners.com recommend xenondepot.com

Those would definitely light up the front of my boat.....on my trailer.......but wouldn't give much light in my boat or the surrounding area.

Why not put a light in the boat instead?

I have a "courtesy light" on the side of the console and it's OK but the cargo light lights up the boat and some of the ramp......I want to put "more light on the subject".

I can't see them putting out that much light. Mine doesn't throw very far at all. Maybe try and find a flood light with a magnet on the bottom so you can put it on your roof

That is what I did for my cargo, reverse, and plate lights on my 2016. I have read that just installing an LED in the brake light can affect the cruise control somehow.

Don't ask why I thought that was funny.

I will look into that

I think LED strips inside the boat would be better, or LED strip lights in the bed of your truck under the railing

Just replace the bulb in the cargo lamp with LED direct fit replacements and it will make a ton of difference. Do the reverse lights as well.

Putting LEDs in my reverse lights barely made any difference at all. I have floods in my bumper. I think he's looking for something to light up the bed and area behind the truck.

LED reverse lights only

LED floods in bumper (not adjusted)

I have this already but I have a bed cover so it mutes the overall lighting but I can inside the bed really good.

Kinda of thinking of doing this

Let me toss this out there: LED lights have different ‘tenperatures’ which makes them have different colors. Some can look blue, some look white, some look yellow. I always want all my LEDs to be the same color for a given project.

It made a very noticeable difference in mine. And like someone else said - I wanted the reverse to match the temperature / color of the cargo light as well. I toyed with the idea of adding the floods in the bumper, but with a trailer hooked up, I don't think they would be much help.

Since mine are floods, they help hooking and backing trailers up at night. I originally thought about building a headache rack and putting some in there. Drew up plans and everything. Just didn't have the time to do it, and putting them in my bumper was easiest. From the pic I posted, you can see the spread of light they put out.

My cargo light now doesn't light up anything in the bed, because my toolbox blocks the light
