I have the Cabelas one. Cabelas return policy for their branded products is what led me to buy this one, also had good reviews.

I have had it for 3 years now with no problems. Picked it up on sale for $170.

Cabelas Quality is a bit suspect, but they will take it back and exchange it no questions asked.

Depends. Plan to tournament fish? Fish for more then 4hrs at a time on back to back days or morning and evening trips on sea day in high winds?

If yes to any of the above get a 10amp PER BANK 3 bank charger. Many of the 3 bank chargers are not 10 amp.

I went with Minnkota 330D

Not following you here on why. Will the 5 amp ones not fully charge them over night?

any amp will fully charge a battery but the lower amperage will take longer. Main thing you want in a charger is the "tender" capability. It will keep the cells active the entire time even once the batteries are fully charged keeping the plates in wet cell batteries from sulphating.

How do Minn Kota chargers keep your batteries running like new for years to come? It starts with a digital design, and it only gets better from there. Low-Line Voltage Compensation [Precision Difference] When outlets get overloaded or hooked up to long extension cords, they don’t put out the 120 volts they’re supposed to. Precision chargers compensate to deliver a fast, consistent charge – no matter what. Battery Equalization* [Precision Difference] Equalization cleans and protects your battery – and Precision chargers do it automatically, every time you plug in. You can also manually activate a more rigorous cleaning at the push of a button. *For Flooded Lead Acid Batteries Only. Custom Charging [Precision Difference] On each bank of our Precision chargers, you can select which battery type (AGM, gel or flooded lead acid) you’ve got plugged in, to dial in a charge that’s optimized for that battery. Automatic Multi-Stage Charging By controlling the voltage and current your battery receives at each stage of the charging cycle, you get a fast, safe charge.

It's bothersome that nowhere in their language do they say "De-Sulphate"

That is the only maintenance besides adding water that can be done to a wet cell battery and most people don't knwo what cell sulphation and keeping the cells active mean.

Straight from NOCO

quote:

NOCO Genius Chargers are portable automatic battery chargers and maintainers for 6V, 12V & 24V lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries. Designed for charging a Motorcycle, ATV, Snowmobile, Personal Watercraft, Lawn Mower and much more. It also can be used as a battery maintainer to keep a Car, Boat, RV, and deep-cycle batteries fully charged. They monitor battery activity for safe and efficient charging without any overcharge and come complete with a built-in battery desulfator to rejuvenate underperforming batteries.

Most reputable smart chargers are going to have a sequence they cycle through that includes desulfating if the battery is not responding as it should. Battery Minder may be a fantastic product, I have no idea, but it is far from the only one on the market that can desulfate cells, and no charger is going to fix a truly sulfonated battery.

I really like my MKs have a 3 bank and 2 bank and have been very happy. Had an older Guest that wasn’t as good and just picked up the 2 bank.
