I have a Mossberg 715T I picked up for $100 several years ago.

Never gets shot. The kids like my dad's old .22 single shot I refinished . I was thinking of selling it and picking up a lever action .22

Thoughts? Not sure what to ask for the Mossberg. Prices seem all over the place. What is y'all's opinion? Reasonable is what I'm looking for. Rifle is in good shape. Just cleaned it the other day.

I’m with Junky, don’t sell it.

My brother had a Winchester lever action that was a wonderful gun, it’s my nephew’s now.

I had a S&W M&P 15-22. It is my son’s now. It is also a great gun. If I have to pick between the lever and the 15-22, I’m really not sure I could.

I’ve seen this on the OB quite a lot.

What’s the thinking behind this?

If the value is right and the gun never gets used why not.

I have in the past traded guns to upgrade what I had.

In pretty much every instance (save for maybe 3) I regret not having the traded gun.

This would basically be a trade.

I'd only look to unload to reload another.

I've never sold a firearm. I kinda like hording them.

Someone wants it but I don't know what to ask and I don't want to gouge but don't want to undercut myself. I think it's crazy what they are asking for on GunBroker for a used one currently. $425 seems high.

I sold a pistol I didn’t love three weeks ago and I already regret it.

With the idiot in the WH you never know if you'll be able to replace what you get rid of.

I have a Winchester 9422M xtr classic 22 magnum my dad bought me for my 16th Bday. One of my favorite guns. I bought my son a Henry .22 for his 13th and he shoots tge shite out of it. He has a M&P 22 but prefers to shoot the lever gun.

Not sure why the gun "never gets shot." The .22 caliber AR's are some of the most "fun" rifles to shoot -- except for the one you got. You might want to at least consider swapping the Mossberg for a Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 (although there is nothing wrong with a lever action).

The Mossberg .22 AR's have long had the reputation of being cheap (inexpensive) and unreliable. If you're experiencing stoppages (failures to feed/fire/extract/eject) I can see why it wouldn't be fun for the kids.(I'm sure there are other great .22 AR's, but I only have experience with M&P).

Everybody who posts here about the M&P 15-22 has described them as reliable. And fun. They generally shoot any ammo you buy (even what used to be cheap Walmart ammo).

Just a suggestion.

Primarily because the kids shoot from the tables position. The 25 Rd mag is a pain on the arse for them target shooting. This is why the like the bolt action.

Always wanted a lever gun and it would be easier for their targeting.

The only issue I had shooting the gun was with the Remington bucket of bullets. They don't want to extract. So I just shoot the federals and Winchester's I have on that gun. Save the bucket for my 22 revolver and bolt action. Even in the bolt action the get wedged and have to be pulled with a thumbnail sometimes. I'll never buy that bucket again (if one is ever seen again anyway)

My brother has one of the S&W .22 Ars. It is the only .22 AR that I have ever shot. It's not accurate for shite, but he seems just to care about shooting it fast. My Marlin model 60 will shoot just as fast and is a whole lot more accurate.

My local gun store has a Rossi pump.22 rifle that I have been thinking about buying, but because of it being a Rossi I haven't done it. It has a great set of sights on it with windage and elevation adjustments with thumb knobs and fiber optic front and rear dots. It's only about 275 bucks. I have heard some people say that the Rossi stuff is much better these days, but I don't know.

I've shot a level Rossi rio bravo.

I'd have no issue buying one. Especially if it's going to ride in a side by side on a farm or lease. Shot great. Not quite as finished as a Henry I would say but for $250ish id buy it

It's the one they call the Gallery .22. The sights are really nice.
