The plan is to show the lobster off for a few days and then either sell it or raffle it for charity.

“Often when we have lobsters this large, people come in to catch them, and they like to release them, which is kinda cool,” said Costa.

Which one you talking about? If the bitch on the right, I'd bet she is kinda stinky after that load.

I saw a post that Main has an oversupply of lobsters this year. Something like less than $2 lb at the boat. I looked around online wanting to make a bulk purchase, but everything was $10-$13 before shipping. I would love to have a lobster boil...

You would probably have to add another $1.50-$2.00/lb for shipping on top of that.

Here's a 13lb lobster when I worked at restaurant depot in New Orleans. This thing was big but not that big. I think the biggest one we had there was 16lb but I didn't get a pic of it that day.

I did a research paper on a bunch of negligibly aging animals and lobsters were one of them. The ones that big are old. And they have the potential to live a really really long time if a predator or disease doesn't get to them. That thing right there is easily 60 years old.

I just emailed the guy, he said the price includes shipping. I am going to make an order for the weekend. Hopefully I get lobsters and don't get burned.

Jason, better to get the 1.25 or 1.5 lbers?

Get the bigger ones.

I steam them for my wife on Valentines day every year.

Steamed veggies, mixed in a hot pan with cubed sirloin and teriyaki sauce on the side...

The halves(1.5) cost more per pound than the quarters(1.25). I guess it's personal preference and how many people you plan ot feed. Obviously a bigger lobster will have more meat in it. Most people prefer the larger ones for that reason probably.

Thanks for the interesting search!

Lobsters came in...

I grilled some with butter basting every couple of minutes and boiled the rest. I seasoned the water heavy and the lobsters still picked very up little seasoning. Both were good, but the grilled were my favorite...
