That part would seem to be a hint.

Buddies Godzilla shite the bed with 140,000, clients 6.2 shite the bed with 82,000. #1 had an ext warranty,#2 was still under power train warranty with new warranty on replacement.

Isn’t that the engines that are locking up due to cylinder mgmt system?

No....the problem with the 6.2 design, that's why they totally redesigned it. The 5.3 doesn't have the same problems. The DFM is a very long term problem in some but not all but there are ways out of that.

Going to piggyback off this. I’m trading my old suburban in and I’m going to buy a 2026 model. I have been trying to track down a 6.2 with 4WD and the super cruise option.

My dealer hasn’t said a word to me about this issue but now I’m seeing YT videos and I want to look at either the smaller v8 or the Cummins diesel. Problem is you cannot get super cruise with diesel because of fitting issues.

Thanks for sharing. Love the OB.

the transmission/torque converter issues, can be mitigated with a true tranny flush every 50-75k miles. is it ideal, no but the thermostat inside the transmission opens at like 170 degrees f. so your fluid isn't hitting the cooling reservoir until then. the heat is what is killing the fluid and the torque converter.

My dad has a 2024 AT4X AEV and he loves it. Has around 40k miles and no issues so far.

He has another car he drives daily but he has put a lot of long miles on it in 2 years. I told him about the recall and he shrugged it off. The man has always had good luck with vehicles. He’s had several Chevys over the years with no problems.

GM/Chevy Transmissions which have been problematic lately

when my transmission valve body went out on my 2024 Silverado last year the part was on backorder and took 6 months to get my car out of the shop.

GM didn't plan very well if they can't make it to average payoff time. At least then you could sell more overpriced extended warranties.

The only thing that's going to be obsolete with this plan is GM...well the 6.2 anyway. Word of mouth will still hurt everything else.

Probably;
Dated interiors
Dated tech
Poor fuel mileage
Small fuel tank
5.7 is a great motor but EPA/CAFE killed it, California is devil.
Old Tundra is what we all want now.

The Toyota 5.7 was shite on for years by the owners of the other brands for not being upgraded because they had that engine or their crappy 6 cyl. It has the worst gas mileage for years, one of the tundra’s biggest negatives was the gas mileage in the 5.7.

I’m not personally saying it was bad or negative, I’m just saying that was a routine complaint.

wouldn't buy a single GM/Chevy product with a V8 right now.

And I wouldn't buy a new tundra. Or a single thing running that 10 speed transmission.

Drove a new one a few days ago, put it in reverse, took off just fine. Put it in drive, did not move for a solid 10 seconds. The 10 spd is a failure of a transmission.

Yep.

Went to Venice today. 216k on the clock. Got 19 mpg going down there and 18 mpg coming back.

Not a tundra, but still. Willing to sacrifice a few other things to not deal with the bullshite.
