I have decided to restore a rare Triton saltwater bass boat. This project will take me quite some time, but I will try to update with pics as I go if anyone is interested.

If no one cares, then I will update anyways

Are the bottom two pics after a good power wash? Looks a helluva lot better already.

Got an engine for it?

Havent purchased it yet, but have been doing some research on motors. The hull is rated for a 175 HP, but am considering going with a 115 or 150.

Good luck.

Contact Triton and let them know what you're doing. Maybe they can offer some advice or even some free stuff or at least some stuff discounted.

I don't think you will be happy with a 115.
Keep the pics coming. Cool thread.

Agree with Alx. At least put it what it's rated for.

Love an intercoastal. Get after it OP. Ready for updated pics.

Man that thing looks like its soggy on the inside. Hopefully being a "saltwater" boat they used composite in place of wood in some places. Good luck and take lots of pics.

Can't wait to see this project progress, boat already looks way better cleaned up.

And I'd also say dont go with the 115, it'll be way underpowered.

My Skeeter was rated for a 175, and I had a 150 EFI. It did fine. I think that jump from 115 is bigger.

I'd say 150hp minimum (but it's not my $)....

That's a fine boat. I'm guessing you got it for a steal in the shape it was in. If it's solid, a little fiber glass work and a new motor/steering will get you going.

Put me down as another vote for the 150.

115's are for 17 foot boats rated for 140 or 150 hp's.

I'm hoping it was free.

The trailer and hull are worth something. I'd have given something for it if I was looking for a project.

If it was a "haul it off and it's free" situation, even better.
