You do realize the second part is pretty normal in every day life. It's the MSM that pushes these divides you see.

I doubt seriously anyone could make the case that the segregation of churches in this country is due to the MSM...at least not credibly make the case....humans segregate by choice....we tend to trust people similar to ourselves and for good reason....we are tribal by nature and an outsider is either dangerous or an opportunity. Most people do not have a lot of friends who come from drastically different backgrounds and have drastically different life experiences...I don't think the MSM media is to blame as much as circumstance....

I have known many knuckledragging racists, even a couple of out right unapologetic white supremacists, in my life...and I doubt any of them would not offer to help a black person change a tire if it looked they were having trouble...they wouldn't speak to that person unless that person looked like they needed some help and they'd do what humans do, help them.

The fact the dog keeps running toward the river when people get near it just doesn't sound good to me.

It's like the dog may be trying to tell them something.

Awful sad. My son was responsible at a very young age and I gave him a long leash when it came to the outdoors.
No better place these young men could’ve been. Luck just went against them this time. Hope the families get some closure soon.

Obviously these "searchers" are too young to have watched Lassie, or they'd know what to do.

This is so true...and, if it turns out to be the worst case scenario, they were probably feeling 10 foot tall and bullet proof, as happy as a young man can get without a young lady around, right up until the time things started going bad.

My wife worries about me hunting alone, or at least pretends to, who knows what dark secrets are harbored in the breast of women....but anyway she worries about it. Also worried about me going offshore alone....those days are probably behind me, in retrospect it was never very smart....although having someone along would have only placed more than 1 in danger if things went wrong....but I digress....I have told her numerous times that if something does happen and I die duck hunting or fishing to take solace in the fact that I was having a big time just before the shite hit the fan. Drowning while duck hunting the Mississippi river is a terrible way to go but it beats the shite out of dying in a car wreck in Atlanta on the way to work.....and outside of dying quitely in bed after a long, healthy life, probably ranks ahead of all of 'em...

Everyone needs to let their loved ones know something along these lines. If it does happen, they can have a little solace which would help ease the hurt.

I guess I overlooked the part about the dog being with them. I read that originally, then I thought someone posted something where a family member said the dog wasn't with them. I would tend to think if they found the dog (especially a lab) alone thats probably not a good sign.

The confusion was over which young man had his dog with him.

Agree, terrible situation. No real updates from what I can see as they are still searching on ground, air and water.

They have started using sonar in their water search, and that is not a good sign, but a step that should be taken to locate these poor souls if they did perish so the families can get some closure and peace of mind.

You would think so. But not necessarily. About three years ago a similar situation happened in Venice. About three weeks after the incident his body was recovered at almost the exact spot of the incident. You would think he would have been washed out to sea, but he wasn't.

There was another incident that happened about 5 years ago. Two young commercial fishermen launched from the same spot that they're looking for these kids. And they never returned. They never found their boat or anything. No idea what happened.

Then about three months later one of them was recovered about 15 miles down stream. The other was never found.

It's hard to figure. But there's a decent chance those boys are right there within a few hundred yards of where they hit that rock jetty.

We can only pray that this is resolved soon for everyone.

Same here in a kayak fatality several years ago.

It was about a week and after a half dozen recuse squads, the divers from Lake Guntersville, all manner of local and state police, who knows how many volunteers, and even a local grotto of cavers had laced up the river to aid in their efforts. They had even tried to redirect the flow by down falling several trees. And still I found him out of his boat right where it happened. He was under water and it was New Year's Eve cold so you really had to want to help. But he was hung up and never went any further than where he met his demise.

Yep, closure is key.
