I have a Springfield Champion that I love now but I had to completely rebuild it. The gun had a spring lock on it and it had one of the worst triggers I’ve ever seen on it. It was 8-10lbs.

I had the same experience and just sold mine. Springfield Armory is all about marketing. I love my Sig XO 1911 and the price was just under 1k when i got it. Fantastic although some traditionalists don't like the squared slide.

Thanks. Nighthawk has a custom package for Colt Series 70 guns called Colt Hawk. The finish is called smoke black nitrate. They give it a black nitrate finish then hand polish to give it worn look. Really came out nice.

Never thought about it before, but wonder what they could do for a Delta Elite?

May need to talk to Bob

There was a blued DE with the Colt Hawk package on GB a few months ago. It looked badass. I think it sold for $3700

Here is a pic of it

I like my Springfield Garrison. It comes with some upgrades and is below or at the lower end of your budget.

that 1948 is amazing.

I've got all recommendations put down. Many I've familiarized myself with, many I've not.

don't want another glock, have plenty of those and revolvers. I've never owned a 1911.

The 1911 is a fine platform. Some people put it down because they think they are unreliable or to old school. They can be just as reliable as a Glock. The triggers are what set them apart from other platforms. All of my Colts have 3.5-3.75lb triggers. Very fun to shoot.

This is my .45 1911, I’ve shot it once.

Absolutely the best pistol I’ve ever shot.

My last 2 gun purchases were 1911s and under 1k.

Springfield Garrison 45acp. I've fired nearly 1,000 rounds through her. Flawless.

Magnum Research 1911 45acp. She hates Winchester white box, but has been flawless, otherwise. Their magazines are mediocre, but Mec gar mags are only $24 each. They are fantastic.

Bought a new LB Premier ll hard chrome with the 1.5 inch guarantee, years ago.

They come in a plain card board box, or did back then.
Was swimming in a plastic bag of oil.

Wiped it off and tried to rack it back.
Would not budge !!!! Tried a few more times and started to think it was locked up ???
Finally racked. To say it was tight is a major understatement.

Great shooter though.

Two used guns you might want to look at is a Colt Gold Cup National Match and a Dan Wesson Pointman 7

Both great shooters.
