Slept in to make a 9-12. Davis Island. Bumped a bunch of deer at my spot. Figured hunt was a waste of time. Have already seen two bucks within 10 minutes of knocking an arrow.

Now 9. Hot doe came through and a buck parade followed. One may have been a shooter. I'm scared to cause my host a penalty though.

Wonder how badly the '11 flood affected the deer population. I believe the highest point had 8ft of water over it. Some came back but large numbers had to of either died or just stayed where they found high ground. Would've been frustrating for those who investing in growing world-class mature bucks only to have them swim away.

Management plays a bigger part but it sure helps having high quality land.

Back in the ground blind on the powerline with the 7mag.

Pulled the card this morning. The biggest deer on the property was cruising through multiple times this week.

Went back to same area as this morning even though it's not really an afternoon spot. Too much activity this morning to not return. I'm sure I'll see nothing. Wind is light n turrible

Got up here late. Slipped into a house overlooking food plot surrounded by pines. No wind to speak of. Super quiet. Ruger 7.08.
