Oh absolutely. I gave his plate number to my uncle.

I've posted about our frustration with them before. They run dogs straight through us just about every weekend.

Time to shoot one that was aggressively charging towards you

Basically, it was a professional art project.

forget the little girl. ain't no way those deer would be oblivious to the coyote standing behind them.

just remember, anything out in the woods at night is also out in the woods during the day. the wampus cats and skunk apes will get you any time of the day or the night.

I've spent a very large amount of time by myself in a lot of woods, and I've never seen any damn stairs. Maybe people down here don't like building them

I do have some stories that I don't like talking about though. I just try and pretend everything is because of bears, big cats, or dogs

Eta: You can bet your arse I'd be walking up the stairs if I saw them. I'm the guy you don't put red buttons in front of

He almost had me until he mentioned the guy getting buckshot pulled out of him by the coroner after shooting himself cleaning his rifle.

Shouldn’t there be pictures of these stairs, too?

Yeah the stairs are bullshite. The other stories sounds like psychotic episodes by those lost in the woods...which is thoroughly plausible.

Fun to read though. Whoever came up with it writes well.

ETA: I keep picturing Hopper from Stranger Things finding all this shite in the woods and just drinking and smoking about it

There is one about a dad and son camping in the forest, hearing strange noises...then waking up to 3 skinned deer outside of thier tent hanging by a vine with the heads cut off....

Well THAT is interesting

I've come across abandoned houses, old graves on a couple of occasions. Scariest actually was an occupied house. I was young, 12 or 13, scouting/creeping with my 30-30 outside of Carthage TX. It was fairly thick but I could make out a house, the wind was blowing decent so my scent and noise were covered good. I get about 40yrds from the house and all of the sudden hear one then multiple things running, converging on my location. There was another sound that I couldn't make out at the same time as well. I dont know why I didn't run but I instinctively knelt with my back to tree and cocked the hammer. I then see a wild looking dog on a long chain making a b-line to me and can hear others doing the same from multiple directions. He hits the end of the chain probably 20-30ft from me as do the 4 other dogs I can see but from the barking there must have been a dozen close by. I quickly realize all if the dogs are chained with just enough leash to keep them from getting to each other but close enough so that nothing is getting by them. These weren't ordinary dogs either but something you see in a horror movie. After realizing the dogs weren't going to get me it hit me. I am over a mile from anything looking at a dilapidated house that is guarded by a dozen wild dogs set in a way that you can't get by them. I quickly got scared shitless again and felt like someone was watching me. I spent the next two hours trying to get out of those woods spinning the barrel of my rifle 360 degrees.

Sounds like another typical “venison fairy” tale. If I had a nickel...

Lived in north Mississippi when younger .Hunted all the woods around the reservoirs. One day I found 10-12 cases JD and other liquor scattered through the woods in the middle of absolutely no where . My dad thinks it was deposited by a tornado that struck a town 20 miles away several years earlier.
A couple miles through the woods was a antebellum 3 story mansion that was grown over with Kudzu. It was used for a hospital during the civil war . It had a cemetery with the soldiers that died in the house. It also had a big Indian mound nearby .While hunting I got freaked out several times by weird sounds and I just knew someone was watching me . In high school we would bring sleeping bags up the stairs ,through the attic out the roof at night and party . Pink Floyd watching the stars

I'm on the 7th update on this thing and I've concluded two things
1) I'm never touching stairs again
2) I'm never going in the woods again
