Okay for the last 3 Olympics I have asked why the USATF doesn’t set a team and go a year before

Carl was literally yelling during the relay
Said the coaches fricked up by changing the entire order instead of just the anchor spot with Noah dropping out

She also said it's 2 completely different races and the preparation for each is different.

The issue is they’re not preparing for every possible outcome. They’re married to one thing and if it doesn’t pan out they’re sent in a tailspin. You have 8 guys there. Yea have your plan for your main group but spend at least a small amount of time figuring up backups and practicing for a bit so you can get timing down. I know that takes time and everything but it’s better than getting embarrassed like this.

No kidding. Do the math on that. 12x60=720/10= 72 seconds or 1min 12sec per 400m. A 60sec 400m is work. Now do 10 of them. That 10th one must have been brutal.

It’s not like this is a one off ever since Atlanta the M 4x1 has been a clown show
When Clive Hart and people like Bobby Kersee had a say the relays were great

I mean when you think about it that’s 6 400m races in one week. 3 of them with hurdles. That’s not even factoring the relay leg you’d probably be asked to run.

For most of us 4-7 were the absolute killers. We were afraid of the last ones so we crushed those middle ones to have left over time. It was AWFUL
My last one was easy. I think I had like 1:45 seconds or so to finish it
I’m not lying when at the end it felt like my head was in a pressure chamber. Like no oxygen could get to it. Every breath felt like it wasn’t enough

Is Hart still alive? Maybe they can bring him in just for a really consultant. Even if he's 90, he's better than what we have had for the last 15 yrs.
