And beautiful, too. Watching the semis, my wife and I at the same time commented how beautiful she was. She's striking.

her top end speed is incredible, in this race, she was 5th around the turn

Can’t wait for the women’s 4x100 relay. I’m guessing it’ll be Jefferson-Terry-Thomas-Richardson

After watching that, Alfred had the run of her life in the 100m.
I think that was a testament to how good of a 100 runner she is. I mentioned it in my preview she was I think 3rd coming into this based on season best

Rewatching the 1500 it’s nuts how the Kenyans just got kicked in the teeth. I think they wanted a tactical race which is why koman went out the way he did. When Jakob didn’t back down I don’t think either were mentally prepared for what ensued and just laid down when the lactic hit. The Americans from Cole to Hobbs showed such grit.

Why would the Norwegian give up the inside so easily to Hocker coming off that last turn?

Gassed and not thinking. He was on WR pace that entire race until the last 120 or so.

There’s also some weird race walking relay deal going on at 130 in the morning if that tickles your fancy

Good lord, Sydney Levrone looks like she is jogging that 400m hurdles and crushed the semi.

Just watched Gabby Thomas crush people in the 200m. Is ringing the bell a Paris thing or is that a tradition in track? I don't remember seeing it before. That was pretty cool. Maybe it should be a standard thing if it isn't already.

The 1500m was fricking awesome

You could tell Ingebrigtsen and Kerr have gotten into each other’s heads so much this year that they only focused on each other during the race. Ingebrigtsen completely zoned out to focus on Kerr and Hocker slipped by him.

It's just a thing for this Olympics.

quote:

The bell is a special element in the restoration of the famous Notre Dame Cathedral. The bell was made in Normandy, at the Fonderie Cornille Havard in Villedieu-les-Poeles-Rouffigny. It is engraved with the Paris 2024 logo and will be on display in one of the cathedral's bell towers after the Olympics.

I think Jakob wanted the world record. Just couldn’t hold on for it. Almost gave it to Cole if he hadn’t gotten his move inside at 115 to go cut off.
