You said the size of your Olympic team means you have elite athletes. It doesn't.
You said the only reason we win so many medals is because we have the biggest team, so…
And that’s not what I said. I said fielding so many elite athletes shows how dominant our T&F is. I would call someone finishing top 3 in the world in their sport elite.

Holy shite I just saw Femke split a 47.93 in the mixed 4x400m. I don't know what we could've done to stop the Netherlands with that

Well shite, I come back from lunch with friends and reading some in this thread you would’ve thought our T&F talent had just quit and come back home or something.

We’ve literally medaled in every event but the Dec so far but some are pissed because of the mixed 4x400 getting Femke’d and Richardson having a disappointing race.

I'm not miserable at all. I just refuse to accept consistently getting beat out. I haven't said anything personal against our athletes that are coming up short. But I'll shite all day on the system and attitudes that normalize settling for fricking third and being happy about it.
So what are you going to do about it?

Looks just like the women’s 4x400 at the World Championships last year when Femke ran down the Jamaicans at the end. She is incredible.

Femke won from here around the last turn

Side note, if any of the T&F regs are interested one of our local guys did a feature on Yared Nuguse (1500m).
I know the gym teacher and his HS coach pretty well so I appreciate the story of how they got him to start running.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – If a high school P.E. teacher hadn’t noticed Yared Nuguse running away from his classmates on sprints to the corner McDonald’s, the duPont Manual and Notre Dame graduate might not be enjoying his Olympic moment in Paris right now.
It’s hard to imagine Nuguse, a state champion at Manual, an NCAA Champion at Notre Dame, a North American mile and 1500-meter record holder, fourth fastest miler in history, doing anything but running faster than almost anyone in the world.
But when Nuguse got to Manual, all he was really interested in was focusing on his goal of becoming an orthodontist. His extra-curricular activities were aimed at rounding out his academic resume, some science workshops the like. The only thing remotely athletic was bowling.

Why did we have such a young anchor in that relay? Just out of curiosity.
And good LAWD, Bol. shite we should’ve put Syd out there on that anchor.

Why isn’t Femke Bol running the regular 400 meters?

Stud man. I think she’s going to run the women’s scene for the next decade. She’s only 23

She’s got a really nice start and a beautiful stride IMO.
