it's been this way since the day he started competing for Sweden. People are unable to separate not understanding why he did something and maybe even agreeing it was the best decision for him while also not feeling overly compelled to root for a non-US athlete.
It's funny, because the attitudes change when we get into the transfer portal for college sports
